Apparently someone who went to one of these test screenings sent a review to AICN.

Very positive, EXCEPT for Prime's mouth and Frenzy's effects.

But it's admittedly unfinished, which means there IS room for change.

Thanks for the post Tekno, but as a rule, I NEVER read reviews from AICN.

I hate to put people in groups, but on that site it seems like there is a conscious effort to prove that you are an ass with everything you say.

Could anyone make a mostly spoiler free version of his review? Doesnt have to cut out everything, but just the main and important things. Especially the scene descriptions themselves. I REALLY want to read it, but seeing as which he starts off his long review with describing the beginning of hte movie itself, I dont want to keep reading. Im already way too spoiled! I dont want to be MORE spoiled.

I would very much appreciate such a thing!

Well, credit DOES go to someone on DM.net for finding this first.

And that may be true about AICN, but that doesn't change the fact that they CAN have somewhat reliable information mixed in with the opinions.

A few of the quick points:

    1. Robots = awesome.
    2. Prime mouth looks bad.
    3. Starscream = sweet.
    4. Frenzy doesn't fit in that well.
    5. There's a BIT of Megatron/Starscream banter.

No mention of the arctic prologue? Was it dropped or moved later on as a flashback I wonder (and therefore not in the detailed plot synopsis he gives), or maybe the reviewer was so excited he missed it!!;) . Can't see the whole 'glasses' plot making sense without it.

Genuine or not, it sounds pretty spot on to what I expected. The only surprise to me was that STARSCREAM shows up so relatively late (one of the potentially 'negative' points some will dive on while ignoring the positive rest!)

The hateful follow-up comments from some members of AICN cemented my loathing for the site as a whole though. If he'd posted a really negative review they wouldn't doubt him for a second, but because he's positive he must be a "plant or 'sucking ass'. "Narrow minded" is the most polite thing I can say about them.

Hmm, he doesn't seem to detail anything other than stuff that he could have read from the old leaked script and stuff we've already heard about from the previous 20 min previews or the TV spots.

I'm well aware the preview screenings happened but this account seems very vague.

Now that everyone mentions that, I guess I agree.

I also have to note that there is NO MENTION of a scene from the leaked script that's at the beginning, and MAKES SENSE to be at the beginning.

For once, I agree with you.

It seems like everything he mentioned has been out there for some time.

Which could mean, he missed alot of the rest of the movie or what we know about, is all there is.

That would suck. I should hopefully hope not.

Maybe he deliberately only mentioned 'known' footage to avoid spoilers?

A screening may not be the entire movie(?)

Just a thought, maybe they havent finished every scene yet and just had a screening of a good portion but as yet incomplete movie.

I'm trying to imagine how things will look while I read the review and I just hope its half of what I'm thinking.^^
Prime's lips are no problem to me, and Frenzy...well, that is probably not finished. So I'm still waiting July 19th with all my heart.

It sounds like the screening was that of an edited or shortened version of the movie. I was able to see an advance screening of Armageddon before it came out. The version we saw was much shorter and had several scenes from the theatrical release omitted. It was a little confusing watching the advance screening, until the movie actually opened and had all the extra plot points in it. That could be why this person makes no mention of the opening scene and such, it may not have been the entire movie. Just a suggestion.

I don't know. The reviewer is not really saying anything we don't already know. Plus, Starscream doesn't show up until the end?!? That doesn't sound right. I thought Starscream was in charge of the Decepticons while Megatron was frozen. You would think he'd be in it more than the just the end. I hope that's not true.

The thing that I worry about is that there may be "temawork" and/or "friendship" crap in it. (?)

    It totally sounds awsome!

Well, I hope that they don't have TF Cybertron style "Teamwork" talk.

    (Or Sonic Heroes style)
