I recently purchased Animated Megatron. I LOVE this toy, with the exception of not having any real pegs for the arms to lock to the shoulders.

Today, at work, I transformerd him, and when I picked him up with my right hand in vehicle mode. I felt something ... sticky. I then prayed up and down that what I had experienced with Universe Prowl was not happening to me ... again.

I lifted the hand, just lightly rubbed my finger on the black paint on the outer cockpit, and it ALL came off.

I'm just sooooo SICK of all of this BS lack of quality control by Hasbro.

    AGghhhhhGghHgHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude that sucks. I have not had this problem yet and I hope I don't. Hasbro better do something about this QC problem, everybody has less disposable income and problems like these will eventually make it easy for toy addicts to stop buying their toys.

    Wow, that's weird.

Better watch my Megs to make sure that he doesn't have the same issue.

Have heard the same from others as well.

    I hope mine doesn't have any issues ;-;

I've had few problems with the QC of Animated, only thing major was SS missing his hand out of the box, the rest pretty much being some loose joints. Hope to not have to deal with this as well.

Tough luck man, that fucking sucks.

They need to quit letting Edward Paint Thinner hands work the Final QC hands on check before boxing the toys at the factory.

*knock on PVC* Both my Uni Prowl and Earth Mode Ani Megs are fine.

Weird, I'm the only one with good shoulder pegs? But yeah the sticky paint is a pretty common problem, that's why I cleaned it off and painted again myself.

Seriously, these BS paint apps from hasbro have to stop. I've had this problem too, but it doesn't really concern me that much as it's a small detail & he's usually in robot mode. I might eventually use a sharpie on it though.

Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for making sure nothing was up with my Megs. Well, I tried it...

THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!!

    *shouts unsayable cusses*

I VERY jently ran my fingernail across the black paint, and it ALL CAME OFF.

WTF is up, Hasbro?! Maybe you can actually USE your profit that you make from us, and make the BLOODY TOYS BETTER!!!

Okay. I can uinderstand their not wanting to use adhesion inducer on plastics that don't traditionally take paint. That's kind of expensive. But, you'd think they'd at least properly prepare the surfaces that are going to be painted. This should be part of the assembly line. You'd think there would also be some tests done, to make sure that the paint they're using, and the process it's being applied with will actually work.

I have the same problem on my Leader Megs. It's FUCKING annoying. If I'd wanted an unpainted one, I'd have looked for a bloody early proto.

Anyone think this can be resolved with some kind of paint sealer/clear coat?

I assumed it might be better than my original Robert Smith joke... then i just though 'Oh no, what a personal disaster this will be' and went the other way with it.

Seems to do the trick (can't say in the long run yet). I sprayed down the sticky-ish clear parts on my Prowl and Animated Megatron with Dupli-Color auto clear top coat (I figured if it was good for cars, it should protect a toy from fingers), and so far (once dry) they haven't been sticky since, though the finish is a tiny bit orange-peel-like.

I'm always up for some Fat Bob or Cure references on here. :)  I've dropped several surprisingly relevant SOM, DM & Nitzer bombs before, but no one ever got them. :(

I have had clear coated paint on my Universe Prowl's doors and roof for 3 weeks and it has been fine. I have been able to touch the doors with no problems.

I Checked mine again and he is fine. That would send me over the top in frustration with that happening I am sorry to hear that but its an easy fix with a paint pen.

Sweet Primus, this is getting ridiculous. Hasbro needs to clean up its act fast. But at least you guys have these figures. The stores around here are still clogged with movie toys and Wave 1.
