After seeing Sculpt-bot's sweet Afterburner resculpt ( http://www.tfw2005.com/radicons-cus...ish-165378/?catid=searchresults&searchid=4073 ) I started thinking about mine. I knew from the get-go that this would mostly be an ALT mode mod as I always liked Ransack bot mode. Using some putty I moved the rear up and added some cardboard to mock up a windshield.

I have access to a vacu-former so I thought I'd try it out with making the shield. I do a cast of the cardboard and run it through the VF, it will make it light weight and hollow.

Would like some direction, comments, crit, suggestions before I do all the hard work.

where's that big chunk going to go in robot mode? You mentioned a shield, but that doesn't look like a shield to me.

That changes the whole look of the fig in a good way. The execution would be kinda weird though.

Not completely sure yet, but when I said shield I ment Windshield. It might just be a part (as I am not opposed to partformers) or since you mentioned it I might actually try to make it into a shield.

dyingwill3rd - Don't mind at all, go for it!

    Thanks all, more work soon.

Nice. The bike mode is a perfect homage; if you can make the transformation work, it'll be brilliant.

You could always try to make it fold over his shoulders in robot mode, n then fold it bak soo it looks like wut yu have there, but it would involve some mods

I believe it is a regular (NOT GTS) Cybertron version. It was loose when I got it.

Lots of new responses, but no time to work on it :(

    soon, SOON...

Not to hijack your thread with my custom idea, but do you think Energon Megatron could be good for Scattershot?

I really like this idea, dude! My only suggestion would be to make the canopy more aerodynamic. I know you're going for a G1 homage, but I don't think you'd have to make it so blocky like the original to pull that nod off. I think I'd humbly suggest just doing a tad of image searches on some "future bike" designs as well as looking at some cockpit designs.

Keep us posted on your work! :thumb

Can you explain a little more about what you did with the rear half of the alt mode?

For the mockup I just placed some putty on the arms and pressed the rear into the putty, moving it forward. With my limited time I did cut off the hand peg from a weapon that fits into Ransacks hand. I am attaching that at an angle to the bottom of the rear/gun. It will be positioned to one side as to fit into one hand only. This will allow for the rear/gun's actual peg to still be used in bot mode.

superquad7 - thank for the suggestion. Actually going more futuristic and rounded will make this job easier. My original inspiration was both the original G1 mold and a Lightcycle from Tron. Thought both those 80's things would work well together. As far as a "future bike" is concerned I had an idea come to me while working on this one...Kandea's bike anyone! Ransack would make an interesting crossover for that.

I'm not a huge fan of crossover stuff, but I'm glad to hear that my suggestion will actually make your work easier on ya! I've often seen some guys that think the more complicated something is the better it turns out. While that may be true in some cases, it's often the easy, simple things that make a project shine :)

Best of wishes on your project man :thumb
