... that in G1 there was an Autobot named Blaster who spoke street, had a head resemble a baseball cap and headphones and transformed into a ghetto-style Boombox.

Because it was proven long ago movie critics were retarded. Seriously. Have you seen the movie Aamir? That movie sucked horribly and critics loved it. Dark Of The Moon comes, and critics hate it. That movie had plot, character, and fairlygood acting. All in all, critics have an IQ of -65656148441475812155125415820564116147621260262062560256565656.5.

Because G1 wasn't a massive blockbuster scapegoat that various "news" organizations could prey upon I guess? Also, anything can be called racist now if someone is stupid enough.

:lol  When I first saw that episode I couldn't stop laughing. You couldn't get away with that today.

The internet didn't exist in the 80s... there wasn't a way for "critics" to get out every crap story that they made up when they were bored. Also, with the internet anyone can become a self-proclaimed "critic."

    Thank you.

People/press are just looking for ways to bring TF films down.

The media tends to pile on. Those who were offended had their reasons, but the average fan sees that kind of thing as overanalyzing and doesn't pay much attention to it.

Were the twins racist? No. Were certain aspects of their realization insensitive? Absolutely. Hence the whole bruhahaha. I think it speaks loudly that they were written and edited out of DOTM. The whiners got the twins exed out, and the fans got a great TF movie without so much negative buzz. In the end, most people got what they wanted.

    This is it, really.

Even when it comes to the established, professional critics and film reviewers, it's still just SOMEONE ELSE'S OPINION. It's no different than your perception of the quality or greatness of any given film being vastly different than that of a random co-worker's, for example. And you don't give a shit what they say either, right? It's no different.

You want real racism? Go watch any old Disney & Loony Toons cartoons. The way they used to draw & depict minorities is shocking by today's uptight, overly sensitive, easily offended, so-called politically correct standards. Or hell, even the old Transformers & GI Joe series. Some of what they got away with back then is insane! :)

Were the twins a retarded concept? Yup. Were they racist? Far from it. So they fit a certain stereotype people who want something to bitch & whine about. What they don't want to admit is that stereotypes exist for a reason, like it or not. And who's more racist, the dozens upon dozens of people that put these two stupid characters together and brought them to life, or all the people who instantly drew their own comparisons of these characters to being uneducated black gangsta' types? That is f'ing irony right there.

Because the 80's were not as politcally correct as today. I grew up watching Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry where there were the Southern Black Crowes and a maid on Tom and Jerry that was potrayed as an Aunt Jamima character that used to yell "Thomas." Exploding faces that ended up looking like a daisy with a black face with thick lips. You wouldn't have those types of cartoons on today. So the twins were edgy characters today.

    and jazz. dont forget jazz!:D

now that i step back and look at rotf, they did pour it on pretty thick with the twins. i still like them and all but compared to jazz in the first movie, they were a little much to handle for closed minded critics. so i see where most are coming from. still dont agree with them though.

Casey Kasem voiced Cliffjumper and Bluestreak in the G1 cartoon.

He was a tribute to a guy, Ace Anderson. Spoke exactly like him, he was the guy behind the scenes of the Civil rights movement. He was a radio broadcaster who would broadcast where all the meetings were for the African Americans, so they could set up the resistance. Without him it could have never happened. Little known fact. Blaster sounds like him, and I mean exact, if you listen to Anderson's old broadcasts.
