That's a lot of story to fit into a 70 minute run time. Wonder what changes they'll make.

They will probably cut a few issues, we may not see the zabarro plot or the other kryptonians. Or they may do it as a two parter. Who knows.

Not All-Star Batman? Ah well. All-Star Superman is good too. Although I would prefer Superman For All Seasons.

All-Star Superman? Sweet. It's always been one of my favorite Superman stories, and the overall tone of the tale fits that of the DCAU.

I would pay good money to see that as a direct to DVD movie.

Excellent! Love the series to death. Be interesting to see what has to be cut, though...

Never really followed the comic, so I'll be coming to this fresh. Always nice to see more love for Superman in animation though.

Just saw this at a friend's
Turned out very well, they captured the spirit of the comics perfectly. Most of the stories are there except for 2. And if you never read the comic you won't miss it. But the changes are minor and most scenes are word for word from the comic. Great voice cast too. I will be buying this the day it's released.

It's a quote from the infamously bad speech in the first issue.

"Are you dense kid? Are you retarded? I'm the GODDAMN Batman!"

Which would sound awesomely wrong coming out of Kevin Conroy.

In other news, TV writer Dwayne McDuffie passed away today.
Milestone Creator Dwayne McDuffie has Died - Comic Book Resources

He wrote the screenplay for this film as well as last January's Crisis on Infinite Earths.
He was also a collabater on many DCAU project as well as several CN series.

    RIP, Mr McDuffie.

First, Boyd Kirkland and now Mr. McDuffie. I just hope we don't lose any more great animation folk.

I'm really looking forward to seeing if Joaquim Dos Santos does another awesome short for the special features.

    Awww, that sucks. :(

I just finished All Star Superman and, while I enjoyed it, I can't say that I loved it as much as all the reviews I've read. For starters, it felt like a series of shorts. While watching the movie, you could really tell where each issue of the comic began and ended. There just wasn't enough tying everything together to make it feel like a movie. Once again, it was much too short. All of these direct to dvd movies would benefit tremendously from just 10 more minutes of story. The voice cast was pretty good, but nobody really stood out. All in all, I enjoyed it, but not as much as some of their other animated offerings.

As someone who never read the books, I came into this one with no expectations. I have found something to like in all the DC-released videos and this one was no exception. One thing they got right is the scale of the action. Superman punched all the way to the moon where he cracks it? Yes please. :)  IMO the scale is what makes these vids so appealing, for some reason they cannot seem to translate how powerful superheroes are onto the big screen(I'm looking at you in particular Hulk), so I really like to see them go all out. It did feel rather disjointed and rushed. When the other two Kyrptonians showed up it was like, "Oh hello when did you get here and become important to this story?" It just seemed out of left field to me.

So worth a watch imo, but only a must-own for die hard fans.

Their appearance did seem rather rushed since, in the comics, they appeared while Superman was on Bizarro World dealing with Zibarro and Le-Roj. While I'm glad they left out the Bizarro stuff, I wish the alternate Supermen were included. The issue with Jonathan Kent was really good, especially once we found out the identity and motive of the Unknown Superman.
