Has anybody sent out any of their TFs for grading to AFA? I've never tried that process and was curious how it works and the expense. I've studied their website, forms, grading system, and such to understand the process.

I never got anything AFAed, but I'm sure if you PM "Da_Last_2_Walk", he could answer any of your questions about this.

Basically, pack up your figure (package it well, mind you), fill out the form on AFA's site, mail it to them and then wait a while for them to ship it back to you. You can pay extra for faster (notice I didn't say fast) grading, but that's up to you. The grading is expensive enough as is. Remember, you have to pay shipping both ways. Sometimes the only confusing thing is which tier your item falls under. I've only dealt with them once, but it most certainly was a pleasant experience.

The process, as far as packing, sending, waiting &, paying, seems easy. lol But you're right that the tier system is confusing. May I ask what TF you sent and how much? Loose or MOSC/MISB? And how'd you determine which tier before you sent it out?

I saw you can fill out all the forms directly online, which is nice.

You can always check the Category Examples for some clarification as to which tier some commonly graded toys may fall under. I like dealing with AFA and they're easy to reach by phone if you have any questions.
