There was very little demand for a Sky Lynx reissue. Shot themselves in the foot with that one. Sixshot did very well, and it is a larger figure. Also, Predaking is proof that large figures can succeed.
Sixshot isn't comparable with Scorpy though. Much much smaller. And I was reading in another thread that Predaking ended up on clearance at a lot of places (I don't remember that personally though). Just a thought.
I do recall Predaking being marked down for awhile, but retailers were too quick on the draw with that one. Had they waited, they could have gotten full price.
Fair enough. I still think that TakTom will wait til the economic climate improves before reissuing Scorpy though. At any rate, let's marvel at this beautiful piece instead of arguing
Reissued Sixshot were a step away from dying back in those '03 days. Dealers were throwing him out for clearance at approximately USD $36 or lesser. And even at that kind of price, he wasn't worth a second glance.
I felt that it was more of them being motorized and common figures in addition to being bricks. SL was an odd choice because he could not be repainted into another character, and had no accessories. With the exception of the clips, Omega is pretty easy to piece together, and the Guardian repaint probably helped offset that cost, and they may stilll do a black/red diaclone repaint.
