Just curious to know what would be the best way to get SDCC 08 Nemesis Prime factoring in cost, reliability, and the fact that a lot of people are going to be after this guy. Thus I call upon the knowledge of the Toyark, let your wisdom shine!

Start finding people who're gonna be patient enough and around long enough to F5 the piss out of HTS come SDCC time.

With any luck, ONE of them will be able to hook you up.

You weren't here for the last Nemesis fiasco... site crashes all day, sales page posted late, 3AM in the morning when I ordered mine after it was finally available and then there was the 4 month wait to get it...

They seem to be a lot better prepared now though. Just annoying Hasbro botched this one with blue windows, doesn't look like Nemesis without them... (I'm still getting it of course, have yet to miss a SDCC exclusive)

    A) If you can't go, you better have someone willing to TRY and get you one...especially if they decide to limit Nemmy to 1 per attendee.

    B) Judging from past SDCC debacles that Hasbro has caused with their exclusives, I am almost expecting a 2 limit exclusive per person (and am actually HOPING this is the case).

    C) You (or a friend) almost NEEDS to be there on preview night, or EARLY next day to guarantee you one...after that it's all luck pretty much because that Hasbro line suuuuuuuuuuucks.

Why Hasbro? Why?! Why must Botcon get the crappy SG Prime while SDCC gets the cool Nemesis Prime?!

WHAT? So you're saying if I want to go, I have to go first day? Is it really that bad? I would really love to go since I live about 30 minutes away.

I think the Japanese Black Convoy is a little cooler with the red eyes and windshield. But I will be getting both. If I find a reliable source for the SDCC, I'll send it your way too. BTW: I don't know if it was in the lounge or in junk ion, but someone was offering to pick some up for cost + shipping for board members.

Yes. Preview Night isn't so much a "Preview" night as it is more a regular con day. Went last year for the first time, and Preview Night was even more crowded than the first official day of the Con.

I'm planning on making a "Official 'SDCC '08 Attendee Good Samaritan' Thread" pretty soon, just so we can get an idea of who's going, and who can help who in terms of picking up toys for them.

$80?! What the hell? A four-day pass is like fifty bucks, IIRC.

EDIT: Upon checking the official site, wow, they raised the price significantly.

Yea I just checked too.. and it shows 75 for a 4 day pass..

I see the prices for individual days are higher.. maybe I'm looking at the wrong prices.

oh wait.. they used to be 50? wow

Heh, and that is a mighty BIG if :)

As for preview night, I failed to mention that it is open to only those who got the entire weekend pass (just in case no one knew that). That's why I say if you go that day you're almost guaranteed what you want...it will just take forever and a day waiting in line to purchase it. After that, it's free-for-all city so come with your brass knuckles and flak jacket   (I kid of course...kinda)

I must've bought my four-day pass way earlier last year, since if you buy them before certain dates they're cheaper.

Its been 75 this whole time this year. I usually get the seasonal comic con newsletter magazine and it usually gives you a chance to preorder your pass early. This year, comic-con didnt go that route this year, straight to 75.

I don't know how yet, but I also hope to get a set of the SDCC exclusives. Especially War Within Skywarp. Heck yes, I want that TF!
