I Want to collect Alts ...what should i get? should go with online stores? or should i just stick with the boards? I dont collect ones to keep 'boxed'.

I want to collect the whole series, but i only have Prime (alt) and SDCC Rodimus (alt)

Are Mirage and swerve good deals at BBTS? I figured why not start with the most costly ones and work my way down

what the difference between binaltek and alts? (besides the box, im am not retarded :D )

Also, I dont know resonable prices for each one (tracks? $30 $40 $45)

Do the alts vary in from BTs?

    Ebay:
Binaltech has die-cast parts, Alts are all plastic.

Some BinalTechs have different paintjobs (Smokescreen has two version, Skids is vastly different, Prowl has japanese police markings) while others are just slightly different details (chrome rims on BT Grimlock, grey on Alt). For the most part they're usually identical.

dont forget the binaltech red meister

also you would probably benefit from buying the middle of the road priced alts right now, they will most definitely go up in price ............while the uber rare ones have leveled out in price and will probably hang for a while.

get ravage2.0 and rumble right now, if you like those designs cuz those will be very expensive in the future.

try to track down an s2000 or mustang mold cuz they only had one run and should be resaonably priced ( for a one run alt i mean)

Keep in mind as far as pricing goes, they originally sold for $25 US ($35 Canadian, not sure where you are) So for the more easily attainable ones, you should be able to find them in that price range.

The rarer ones are obviously going to be more expensive but I wouldnt pay more than $50 for an Alt.

Swerve and the exclusives do tend to hover closer to the $100 mark though.

I just said "fuck off" to every price on BBTS, those don't seem fair to me really, but then, I'm a cheap ass

The original US price was actually just $20 save for Nemesis Prime and Rodimus, which were $25 ( I think that's right for Nem Prime but might be wrong!)

luckily I got my SDCC from HTS for $25 and my Prime from Walmart for $19.99

........Why couldn't they be a more readily available line

they were for like 3 years, just not the past 6 months.

you may not have been able to find everyone in those 3 years, but if you got an itch to go buy an alt, you could have one in ten minutes provided a store was near by.

Will we ever see a line as wonderful as this again? I wish I would have jumped on board so much sooner. All I have is rumble, skids, rodimus, ravage, and smokescreen.

yeah, I know, but everywhere I went they always had a verry limited supply...:(

over the course of 3 years, 5 is the largest number of alts I have seen at a store at a time :(  and mostly the same, just the crappy ones no one liked (skids...I think he is a crappy alt IMO)

I know I am kinda late in the game, but I dont regret 'not buying alts at the time' cause there were never alts to buy :cry

Was there something stopping you from ordering online the way you're considering doing so now?

#1. 3 years ago, I was 3 years younger, thus 3 years stupider.

#2 being only 17, only now do I have access to a Debit card =p and a more steady personal $$$ flow (aka a part time job) and my parents didn't like me to spend my $$$, so I was a pain in the @$$ to get them to order something for me at that time, and I only had so much money to spend at the time

#3. I thought this was the give Volrath advice thread, not the give Volrath a hard time thread :p

    Ewww, it's a teenager!

What, we can't do both? :)

All of the Alts currently in stock at BBTS are too expensive. Tracks is the closest to a fair price. Maybe it's his current value, but $40 for Swindle, one of the cheapest and most common Alts of his time, is crazy. Doubly so for Smokescreen.

Shop elsewhere, or continue to use the boards.

    (lol, THAT WAS A JOKE)

Yeah, I think I will just keep trying my luck on the boards, or mabe hit up a few local toy, game, and card conventions...they usually have good prices
