Taking a road trip next week and I need a DS game.

    Parameters:

I beat New SMB and SM64/DS.
Have Brain Age, Brain Academy and Nintendogs.
    Won't be doing multiplayer.

    Commence recommendations.

Hmmm... if you like FAST-action puzzlers there is Meteos.

Also, although rather easy, Super Princess Peach is fun as is Kirby Canvas. Even though it excels in multiplayer, Metroid Prime: Hunters is AWESOME!

Sonic Rush which is available now at Best Buy for 15 dollars. It's a great deal for one of the best games since Sonic Adventure.

Oh, I had forgotten about Sonic Rush! That is a FUN game, and it returns to the blazing speed from previous games and doesn't have near as many of those misplaced spikes that kill you or ruin your speed.

    Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation

While it's not a DS game you can play it on a DS.

Phoenix Wright is very good, but its basically a text game, if its your cup of tea, great, if not, then steer clear.

I'll throw in Resident Evil DS, but only if you're a fan of the original game. If you've never played it before the control system will most likely infuriate you.

Mario Cart DS is probably the best driving game on the DS, just the thing to make you car sick.

Trauma Center is very good, but also rock solid. If you want a holiday, then this game might be tough going.

    Metroid Prime: Hunters, superb.

Actually, rather than just going through all this have a look at this list. To see what games are rated highest, click on 'score' and it will put them in order, with the best on top.

Too bad it's not 3 weeks later. You could pick up FF3. Oh well, go with Sonic Rush.

I have most of the top rated games: NSMB, M64, Metroid, Kirby, M&L, Castlevania and Mario Kart.

but I only play advance wars DS. It really is that good, and is fun for a longer time than anything I've played. I've done 96 hours now, and I'm still hooked.

The game I play second most is NSMB, but you already have that. Kirby is an excellent game for short play sessions. For longer ones, Metroid is great - but it's difficult to play in a car. So my other suggestion must be Mario & Luigi. It will keep your attention for quite some time (being a RPG), and it's hilarious. Castlevania is, well, it's Castlevania. But it's one of the best Castlevanias.

Mario Kart has a great multiplayer mode, but the sheer number of courses and cars to unlock and the mission mode mean its got about a long single player mode.

Sonic Rush the best 2D sonic game in forever. beats the pants off Advance.

Castlevania is good, and plays more like Metroid than PrimeHunters does. MPH is an FPS set in the metroid universe but with very very little of the exploration or giant bosses that made the prior games in the series worth playing. I beat it and traded it in before going online. I just didn't like it.

Meteos is better than Tetris DS in a lot of ways. theres lots of stuff to do there for a puzzler.

I appreciate all the Sonic votes, but I've never been a big fan of the series. A bit platformed out anyway. I think I'll go for Advanced Wars unless I can find Trauma Center (any suggestions there?).

With Trauma Center, I just suggest checking your local Best Buy for such a rare game you can be surprised in finding entire shipments just sitting on the shelves there. I know where I go to college, I see about a half dozen just sitting there sad and lonely each time I visit.
