He looks really good in person shot, and that's exactly where it counts. If I could have two signatures, you'd bet I would have made one for BB already :D

Ooof! MPM Bumblebee, Leader Megatron and Voyager Megatron all coming soon?

That whooshing sound you all heard was my wallet emptying out.

Very nice! Glad to hear it.

    A few questions for you:
    • With the wings properly transformed, i.e. swept up and to the back, would you say the lower wings end up looking better/more accurate as a result?
    • Do the lower wings appear as if they can be removed and swapped for greater screen accuracy w/o heavy modification?
    • How strong is the light-piping? (I know we've seen his light-piping in a few pics already, but I'd like a specific answer.)
    • Is the faceplate easy to bring in and out? Does it feel fragile at all? Is it too loose or too tight, does it have problems staying in one position?

Just got mine too... Had to rush down after seeing the posts ... thankfully got 1.
Will leave the full review to the professionals.

    Some thoughts:
Very nice bot mode - possibly the best so far - great poseability !
Solid figure, feet a little floppy (or maybe due to the weight of the figure)
Door assembly a little loose (doesn't stay well in place in bot mode, maybe just my piece)
Major complaint for me are the doors in car mode (see last pic)
Was expecting to be able to open the doors like a normal car...for a masterpiece, this is not what i expected.

    Some pics to share :

See what I mean... well I will probably just use my HA for car mode with this guy in permanent bot mode.
Great toy, don't get me wrong, I don't regret my purchase, just that the doors just stop it from being perfect...

    Cheers !

First of all, some size comparisons!!!

    IMG_9626.JPG

...and because I don't think anyone has done it yet:

    IMG_9635.JPG

    IMG_9634.JPG

Beautiful, if I do say so myself! (^o^)

    Of course!

    IMG_9621.JPG

The wings are actually really poseable and they're technically on 4 separate joints:

    IMG_9628.JPG

The thing is, the wings are connected to the main body via the wheel piece, so their poseability varies depending on how angled the wheel piece is. They can be brought in the closest with the wheel pieces at almost 90 degrees to the body.

    IMG_9627.JPG

I never really had an issue with the positioning of the lower wings per se, just the fact that they can't be rotated around. That being said, it does look like it would be possible for a third party company to utilize the screw to rotate that piece around, but the problem is that the black frame is all one piece so it might look a little strange depending on how it's done.

    IMG_9636.JPG

The light piping is excellent. However, it's clear plastic painted blue. On mine, the blue dots aren't centered and they make him look a little cooky if you look closely. (^.^')

    IMG_9637.JPG

As for the battle mask, it's solid and rather simple to deploy. It's on a double hinge and folds down over his face. The only thing to watch out for is to not pop the battle mask off when lifting up the top of his head. Still, it pops back on rather easily, so no harm no foul. (^.^)

Awesome, thanks for the answers! The figure really does look fantastic. I'm glad to see the wings are so poseable.

EDIT: Could we see a pic of Sam next to MPM Bee in car mode? Pretty please? :)

The hype train just won't die, will it? These recent glimpses and reviews of the figure have rekindled my full interest. These images and scale comparisons have been PERFECT.

Those wings are perfect. I see now even if I wanted to mod them for further accuracy, I can't, but I finally see what HasTak was envisioning all along

@Actar, two more requests, pretty please

No offense, but sunstreaker is the ONLY masterpiece to date with anything even remotely resembling accurate action features invehicle mode. You're lucky the doors open at all.

Non taken, maybe I've been spoiled by all the previous BB "deluxes" having the feature.

This pic made my inner scale nerd do a backflip...he's definitely based on Bee's height in the first movie as opposed to his more recent appearances. Throw the math out the window and watch a clip of prime fighting bee in TLK, he's waaaaaaay bigger in recent films in relation to prime than this MP is.

I mean don't get me wrong, it was always a cool feature, just not one I was necessarily counting on based on the track record of the MP line.

Damn @Actar, that looks fantastic. I wish they had gone just that one little extra step and improved the doors so they don't open like they do in vehicle mode, but instead of feeling just obligated to buy this, I'm now actually excited to own Bumblebee. Too bad they likely won't be selling them here, else I might go get one today (or tomorrow, since it's almost 8pm now).

Masterpiece Tracks, Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime would all like a word with you. Optimus, Ultra Magnus and Starscream might, too.

I'll be trying to get a video review out ASAP... Pretty exhausted out though. Leaving the house at 7 a.m. was probably a little bit of an overkill... (^.^')

    Here ya go!

    IMG_9639.JPG

    ...and while I'm at it~

    IMG_9642.JPG
    IMG_9640.JPG

The transformation back to vehicle mode was far less nerve-racking than I had initially thought. In fact, it was pretty simple and straight forward. Again, nearly everything has a place to peg in, so if you're doing something wrong, you'd know.

    IMG_9641.JPG

Also, I don't understand why the instructions failed to mention weapon storage in both vehicle and robot modes. In fact, the cannon splits apart solely for storage in vehicle mode. (^.^')

    IMG_9638.JPG

Lastly, here's my best attempt at trying to capture the texture/sheen of the paint.

Well, I just preordered this dude at TCP. Thanks to Actar and TCracker for the amazing and helpful pics today, and thanks to Prime135 for all the great TRU info, which led me to PO this now. Hopefully TCP gets them on Friday like their Events Calendar says.

It seems like the yellow looks better when it's not directly under light, so that's kinda cool. And that transformation is something I just have to experience asap.

I just can't wait longer for TRU to get their stock in, when it can possibly be had sooner, so here I go with TCP. I also used some reward points for $10 off, so it should barely be a little more than TRU with tax. I hope they do get them in this week!
