Looks like TakTom still has plenty of that metallic green paint left over...  

I'll stick w/ Generations Wheeljack. Hold on - Me going for Hasbro's figure over TakTom's? Am I feeling alright?  

 

Sort of a mixed bag to me. I'd easily choose Generations Wheeljack if it had pearly white plastic, but I fear it will be the same situation as Generations Drift and Jazz. I'm glad they fixed parts of Scourge's deco -- the red eyes, white hands and wing stripes --but I'm still not sold on the metallic paint. The cab deco on Prime looks to be much improved, particuarly the hood flames and all-black cab, but the change from clear orange to blue plastic makes me wince.

 

I agree, I don't like the metallic paint on Scourge at all, it clashes with the other blue bits IMO, but where do you see red eyes on United Scourge? I don't see that at all.

 

Definitely sticking with United as planned. I actually like the Metallic green on Wheeljack. I will be passing on G2 Prime. Now if they ever release it as Black Convoy? Consider it sold!

The eyes look like unlit red lightpiping to me. It's a tough call, but I just assumed Takara would get it right.

 

Enh. Takara's G2 OP looks better in vehicle mode, but I like the US version's orange sword better. It'd be a tie, but Hasbro wins based on price.

And Hasbro wins on the other two before I even consider price.

Hope TakTom left enough of the transparent grill on G2 Prime unpainted so that the light piping still works.

 

I don't see what the big deal is with Scourges eyes being red. Take $1.99 to Micheals and paint them yourself. Its TWO dabs of paint. Save the $20 and be proud of your figure you detailed.

 

Heh, I'm indifferent myself. Yeah, it would have been nice to have them be painted especially since the light-piping is not-existent, but the lack of red eyes is noticable I suppose. *Shrug* I find Hasbro's Scourge to be a little better honestly, anyways. If I wanted to make a big deal of it, I'd say something along the lines of "OMG NO RED EYES CHILDHOOD RAEPED LOLOLOL." 

 

The extra shine on Scourge is tempting. Other than that, not really interested in the extra price for the minor paint improvements.

 

Very tempted to use United Scourge as Scourge and Gen ones for Sweeps. With Wheeljack, I like the US colors better, but I'm worried the US one will have Tracks' wings.

 

Okay taking a closer look at the wheeljack pics here's what I see:

1. The headlights and grill look better on united unless it's just the angle of the hasbro one not showing it.

2. His ear flaps are silver on the united which is better imo and seem just black on the hasbro.

3. Blue light piping on united. Does hasbro have it too?

4. Hubcaps the same or not?

Looking at g1 wheeljack, the green is kind of a forest green so they both are off as far as being toon accurate. Hasbro is too light and united is just too metallic and shiny looking.

Also in bot mode g1 wheeljack has more red on his chest and more green on his legs so hasbro is closer in similarity. In alt mode he has more red on his roof so again hasbro is closer. Man, I really though united would nail him but I'm really not feeling that green right now.

 

Neither Wheeljack is accurate. His green should be the one Alitailia uses for its logo and plane fuselage, which can be seen here:

Takara WJ has slightly more detailed paint apps but, frankly, I think the lighter Hasbro green suits the character much better. I'll need to see a more detailed comparison before I decide.

 

Scourge looks fantastic.

 

United Scourge for the win in his category. United Wheeljack's green is too shiny. His white, as you can already see, is going to be bright and glossy like Drift and Jazz. So I am holding off till the final product arrives. For now, United Scourge and Hasbro sweeps for the glory of Galvatron! And I am still lacking a Galvatron figure.

 

love G2 Convoy and Scourge !

 

G2 Prime looks better now, especially in vehicle mode. United mold for me!
