That face-off artwork will most likely end up being the DVD art as well.

With any luck it won't, most summer blockbusters end up with artwork different from their posters, maybe spike with the allspark with the autobots stood behind him

So I haven't played a video game since the mid-80s... and I'm looking at these thinking to myself, "How much will these cost? Could I buy them all at some point just to have on my shelf?"

So, yeah, up mine, I suppose.

The merchandise list has been updated with these ... we already had them from a few weeks back, but smaller and lower res.

Well, that's cool. I like how they did a different cover for the X360 collector's edition.

I totally agree:mad:  The PS3 can do anything the 360 can, and better;)  ...If Michael Bay had a hand in this, I'd say 360 got it all because it's American made...

After viewing the movie posters, this doesn't seem all too exciting. The last one posted is pretty tasty, though, with both logos. I would have liked to see a bit more art straight from the game, instead of the expectant stamp from the movie. To go off on a tangent here, we all have to admit that the movie is re-igniting the pure love for Transformers. Why does it all have to be based off of the movie now? Why can't each product based from the movie have its own originality? We'll probably see the same movie art on the box of Transformers Fruit Roll-Ups. I've gotta stop complaining, sorry. On another note, dut, di-dut, di-dah......

Seeing the title "Transformers the Game" reminds me of Yogurt's marketing ploy for "Spaceballs the Movie." I can see Mel Brooks saying some lovable crass remark after pulling the string on Optimus Prime's plush doll.

I too am wondering whats in the Xbox360 Collectors Edition. Any new playable characters maybe ? Kind of like they did with PS3 Collectors Edition of Spider-Man 3 were you can play as the New Goblin. Just wondering cause I've preorder this at EBgames cause if you preorder it there you get a Transformers Movie poster which is nice looking btw :D  .

Vendors and retailers will sometimes enter bidding wars in order to be able to offer exclusive product. It seems that Microsoft won this one, or they may have already made some kind of prior advertising/marketing deal with Dreamworks/Paramount.

But there's more to it than just "bidding". The game distributor will often negotiate with the vendor and/or retailer that in order to obtain said exclusive, they must also provide X-amount of advertising and promotion for the product.

Case in point: Spider-Man 3 The Game.

Collector's editions were released only for the PS2 and PS3. Sony is the distributor for the film. GameStop negotiated with Sony to get an exclusive version of the PS2 game. GameStop, in turn, has gone to great lengths to promote the videogame through in-store signage (my store just got a new marketing package last week for "GameStop Goes To The Movies" with lots of posters and banners featuring Spider-Man and TFs) and online promotions.

this Game Better not suck, all the hype about Spiderman 3, and previous years they put in to the game, and it failed. I'm a big fan of transformers, but I really want this to be worth the money. Id like to see a smooth game. I have ignored most Games based from Movies, they never put enough thought and time into them. No More Mediocre Games!

Guess we will wait and see.

Hopfulling its anything over a 8.0 rating average.

Don't care if it'll suck or not, I'm sure there's bound to be some fun in it.
