News Post : Activision Found UK's Biggest Transformers Fan
No, it really isn't likely.
Good for him. I'm happy they gave it to him and not some 40-something year old.
Congratulations to Jack Gaughan!!!
I'm saying this as a Fan...
I think a lot of TF Fans will disagree with the above statement. I'm unofficially the Biggest Transformers Fan in Sri Lanka, but I don't own a single toy (yet). Toy count is not a "base" to be the biggest fan... In the world.
That's nice for the kid.
I have more merch than that <.<
j/k congrats to the kid
(ps I didn't enter the contest before someone asks, I'd have prefered for a kid to win)
3 years. 600 items?
Shit, I've been collecting for 4 years, and I barely have sixty figures.
I guess it is pretty cool to be hailed as the biggest fan in an entire country.
haha by figures alone i know TJOmega got this kid beat 400+ in figures alone
It's nice for the kid but I think they didn't search very hard if he won with that
I didn't know Sol Fury was 12 years old.
I have close to 300 figs, so can I be counted as the world's 1/2 biggest fan?!
Harry Potter is a Transformers fan?
There may have been bigger fans whose parents had smaller pockets, though.
Only my mental age lol
Congrats to the guy though, he deserves it.
Fair play, this kind of competition really is best won by kids. Notice he is dabbling in the MIB dark side...
I'm glad a kid won it. Congrats little guy!
IMO he needs some BW, RID, G1 and turbomasters to hold the title. It's nice to see a kid win it (was there any doubt but undoubtably he needs to expand hiscollecting horizons to be the 'biggest' UK transformers fan
Those who guessed that the marketing desire to pick a child would trump those who are in their 30's and have way more toys prooved true.
Ironically as he's 12 (born in 1998 say) well by 1998 I had well over 700 by then at least a couple of years before he was even born...
And I know I'm probably only in the top 20% of volume of collectors with substantial amounts.
600 is fairly modest - I'm not joking when I say I lost count sometime in the nineties and I can only say it's probably 3000, 3500 or so (might be way more or a bit less - not a clue really) I really do have to many to count.
And I know there's people with way more than me as I have loads of gaps in terms of Victory and other Japanese exclusive G1 lines. So anyone who has that too will be easily beating me... but I am a completist and I do buy Japanese and Hasbro editions of things usually... but even so I don't consider myself near the top percentage simply as there much be people who have loads of Diaclone and Korean etc... Items I simply don't have.
TFW2005 officials should contact that kid. Having him aboard would be a good publicity stunt for TFW2005.
