OMG this project took FOREVER! I worked on this sucker for 2.5 weeks to get it right and I'm happy with the results and hope you are too!

Gnaw started as an activator Bulkhead . . . thats right an armored transport vehicle is who he started as! I removed the wheelsection and his hands to start. I then sculpted the entire shark section (face). I used bionicle legs for the tail sction and random fodder for weaponry.

I gave him a completely new paint job to match the original Gnaw as of course for asthentic his tail becomes his mace!

That's really creative. I would never have thought of this. Personally I think 2.5 weeks is actually a bit short for a kitbash. I've got two WIP's that have been so for almost a year now, lol. Keep up the good work.

I think the time it takes one to create a custom is often times very relative to the artist's life and processes. If things are really rolling, 3 weeks is a "good" time for me to complete a project (not actual timed duration, but start date through end date). I also think it's relative to a project type. Repaints most often take considerably less time than a scratchbuild simply due to level of involvement.

That being said, I also have several projects that were started long ago (3 months+), but I've consciously placed them on hiatus for numerous other reasons. A few months ago, I was able to complete one such project that had been in progress for quite some time :)  [/spoiler alert]

As for this project, I really enjoy the creativity involved here. It's always neat to see artists taking the unlikeliest molds and making an unlikely project. It's even better to see it executed well :thumb

Dude, this is impressive. I kinda agree with my fellow Radicons I mean take an unlikely mode like this into an unexpected project like making Gnaw. Now thats thinking outside the box and you nailed this one out of the park. Great job, shinobi.

This is quite a cool surprise Shinobitron. You did an awesome job repurposing that mold and somehow staying G1 and Animated at the same time. It's a great likeness and sweet custom all around.

And I agree with Redline. 2.5 weeks is fast in my book...

I like him, but with more modding it would work 100 times better. the head is hardly visible in robot mode., in fact it wasn't until the second look and a few seconds until I found it.

Also, the mouth could have been hollowed out and teeth made easily from styrene, rather than painted on.

    Excellent concept though.

Man that is wildly out of the box my man. Great work on this. I'd say his head could have been a bit different to set him apart from Bulkhead, but that's pretty minor compared to the great work you did to get this to look like a Sharkticon

I love the landmine hands, and I probably would have sculpted bulkheads teeth to a sharp point to Gnaw, but it still looks great.
