I really like Animated Activators Bumblebee, except for his hands. They're so hard to see... so I brought them out with some black paint and a few minutes' work.

I think you'll agree it's worth the effort. Break out that black paint, folks, and you can have a to-scale Bumblebee to be proud of!

(Personally, I use black nail polish as it holds up very well and is easy to wipe off -- using polish remover and a q-tip -- if I mess up. A toothpick'll get into those little cracks just fine.)

Very tempted to do that, may have to buy a spare just in case.

Might colour the side windows on Universe Classic Legend Jazz G1 too...

The good news is that it doesn't impact his transformation in any way, and you don't even have to worry about the paint rubbing. That panel doesn't come into contact with anything except a tiny peg (to stop it from "closing in" too far in car mode), and there's no friction there. I can't think of any reason not to do this -- the pictures don't even do justice to how much better it looks. This is one of my favorite toys now. :)

Dope! I like that a lot better than the "coloring the hand black" mod I've seen around.:thumbs2:

I used a Sharpie and colored the hands themselves black on mine. I like the black hands better, but both mods look better than the way it comes out of the package.

CJ looks pretty cool, but I'm not 100% sold on him. Not sure if I want a redeco of a toy I already have, based on a character who didn't even get a line. :)

Bought this guy for my three year old daughter, she loves bumblebee, and I was very impressed by just how good the "easiness" was in ratio with the "coolness".

Very nice figure, and the black paint does make his hands look better, very nice mod.

Yeah I did something similar a while ago since the lack of colour on the hands bothered med. :lol :
