Growing up my favourite new character Actionmaster was Kick Off. I loved his aesthetic and his tech spec portrayal as a gladiator made him a badass to me. For years I wanted a version that wouldn't look out of place with the Diaclones as I'm a vehicle scale nut. Then I looked at Trailbreaker. The head really seemed to share Kick Off's visual cues. The off road alt mode seemed to fit a rugged gladiator and to my eyes could pass as Cybertronian. Plus his arm shield seemed perfect for a gladiator. The icing on the cake was that the Actionmaster's accessories actually fit onto the CHUG mold without modification. Anyway I submit my modest custom Kick Off...
That works very well! On par with the botcon kick-off, but with the added bonus of working with the g1 jetpack! Awesome work.
Thank you. I dont know that its on par with the Botcon version but i appreciate the compliment. I do like when updates/customs can use the earlier toys accessories. I think it adds to the homage.
Well the Botcon version is perhaps my joint all-time favourite botcon figure (Got to love the 2014 Scorponok), but it lacks the G1 accurate white chest - which you have included. Absolutely on-board with any figure/ accessory which is 'backwards compatible' like that. Like the Ravage figure that came with Universe 08 Hound being able to accommodate G1 Ravage's missle pods. It's the little touches like that.
Oh, man! That's a fantastic dead-on figure-to-character match! Good eye! The colours are already close, and he even has the little winch under his chest! Feels way more rugged and rough-and-tumble than the Botcon version. Brilliant! Love it! zmog
