I’m working on more “Late G1/early G2 Recolors/redesigns of popular characters”-type ideas. I tend to enjoy those color schemes more than the originals to be honest. I threw this one together out of boredom mostly. It’s bad. It’s very bad. (Sorry about the orientation of the image. I’m a thot & I don’t know how to correct it.) The orange paint has this really powdery unpleasant finish to it. Not a fan. I’m looking to add some primer to it, but I currently don’t own any... This is the first time I’ve used spray paint (on the non-gun hand & crotch)! That’s something, right?
Might I suggest using some acrylic model paints (like Vallejo or Tamiya)? Then the finish will come out much more smooth compared to that powdery finish. BTW, do you have any alt-mode pics?
I’ll get on those alt mode as soon as I can! I plan on going over those parts with better quality paints when I have access to them. Thanks for the brand suggestions! I might give those a try! I do warn you, the alt mode is barely (if at all) changed.
Very nice. Actionmaster Shockwave was my first Shockwave toy. Far more vibrant to the original colour scheme. Shame it's not used more often for official toys. Despite your own misgivings, I think you've done a great job. I've done a few Actionmaster customs myself.
Sorry to ask but isn't this Superion's thread? Maybe you should like... put your customs in your own thread or something?
I have. I was just showing him he's not alone in his desire to customise Actionmaster characters. Or G2 for that matter. I'm actually hoping to see more customs from him.
Oh I know that's what you were thinking. I'm sure if he had a problem with it, he'd have told me. That was not my intention.
I’m remaining neutral on this argument. I don’t want to heat up any tea on my customs threads. I can confirm that I plan on working on more late G1 early G2 repaints of popular characters!
