That’s hard to pass up at $35. I may get it.

If it helps, I really like mine. At $70, it's utter crap, but at $35 it's pretty good, especially the car. It's in no way perfect, but as far as I'm concerned, it's the only CJ I'll buy for the rest of my life regardless of what other versions are made.

I got mine for $45 at the first price drop and I honestly don't regret it at all. It's a neat little figure that looks the part on my shelf. I like him overall.

May get the Hubcap to paint to G2, looks neat enough for that at $35.

I hate when people say this so I don't like saying it myself (but I have to): This guy is a lot better in hand than the pictures show.

He's not worth the original $90 or whatever he was but for $30-40? He's a great little CJ and looks great on my MP shelf next to Bumblebee and the other mini bots.

I got the yellow version of this mold for about $40 a while back. It's the worst 3rd party figure I own.

    Negatives:
Feet are too big and way too heavy. Legs flop around due to weight.
The paint is applied too heavy. They really slathered it on there.
Mine broke on first transformation (trying to get the hood out from behind the chest which is connected with a thin, clear hinge)
    Feet don't stay tabbed.
Alt-mode on mine doesn't tab well. Gaps galore.

    Positives:
Looks enough like Hubcap on a shelf, from a distance.
Checks a box that I really didn't care about.

I wouldn't consider this mold for Cliffjumper.

Nope, kinda does the opposite. Those legs are just terrible. The Brawn wars need to begin STAT! I need another option.

Good hearing many think this guy is worthwhile at the discounted price, though. I don't think I'll even bother transforming him. Throw him up on the shelf and call it good.

I love the legs!! A bit blocky and unstreamlined, but it's Brawn we are talking about, not Sideswipe or Sunstreaker (decidedly more aerodynamic characters).

When I consider the character, Brawn was meant to be a squat little tank like Puck from Alpha Flight, Wolverine or Danzig (HA!).

Whereas, a character like Mirage is more or less a leaner, more stealthy and spindly figure, with thinner proportions... like Gambit, Jack Skellington (potential bad reference) or Aeon Flux.

I also do not dislike a reasonable amount of alt-mode kibble when the figure is in bot-mode. For example, I prefer seeing a wheel here or a tail-fin there when staring at a transformer.

With respect to Ace's Tumbler, I still think he's a solid figure. He has the appropriate alt-mode references such as the real vehicle's cab section as his chest, and the vehicle's bumper as the feet (just like MP Bumblebee).

If I had a grievance, it would be that I wish he had a more "Cliffjumper-esque" head and face. Tumbler has got some duck lips.

    IMAG6602_1.jpg

But considering that his G1 toy was basically a recolored Bumblebee with a spoiler, I can't complain!!

Next on the to do list... I've got to hit up Toy Hax for some faction symbols.

    Cheers!!

To each their own... To me, I want them to more or less look like they did in the cartoon. There's what looks cool and/or makes logical sense and then there's what actually was. Optimus Prime would have looked pretty tough in black and silver, but he's not supposed to be that so I want him in his less tough, but correct, red and blue deco. To me, Badcube's Brawny doesn't look how Brawn was ever shown and goes too far in the 'sacrifice to make it work' dept.

I'll pass on MMC and XTB just because I like the alt mode and the simetry with MP Bee, big chest, clown feet and all. I'll reconsider when TT makes their own.

I got the Hiccups/Hubcap figure for Christmas for around $35-$40. He looks good with Bumblebee. I'll wait on another version of Cliffjumper. Should give some nice variety that way.

I think the black and silver Optimus Prime might be a stretch... but I read what your typing.

Up until now, the closest option outside of BadCube's Brawny was iGear's Hench. And as articulate as it was, for many... it wasn't quite Masterpiece material.

I was in on this about to go, then I saw the final product, and I wish they would have stuck to the test shot, the digibash is what should be produced. If Wei Jiang, Make Toys, Legendary Toys could take Ace 01 and rework it to look like the digibash, improve the quality, and paint apps. I'd love it. But that final head sculpt, the color.. Damn...pass. Is there a better MP cliffjumper out there?

Thanks for this. Settles it for me. I need a CJ to complete my Autobot collection and despite its flaws, it looks the best to me in this comparison (technically Bee is the best in the line-up but yeah).

Been umming and ahhing over this for ages.
