Keep in mind they are basing the sell of this combiner to determin future combiners so are they really doing us or themselves a service by giving the FOC accurate one to SDCC???

Terrible idea. They should have just gone with accurate Bruticus from the beginning. But despite that, I'll still be getting the G2 one.

Good, because that way, the people who like g2 colours can get it from retail, but the whiners who want the accurate colours have to pay extra for an exclusive :ev:

Posting threads in the appropriate forums... good idea or bad?

On-topic, I'll decide if I hate it depending on when and for how much I get my SDCC Bruticus.

I figured that the General section would be the best place to post a Poll with no bias.

Stupid idea. Now I might not even bother buying FoC Bruticus because it'll be too much of a hassle to get, and I hate the Energon colors. Ugh.

Hmph, I was hoping to get another Optimus as an SDCC exclusive but I guess Hasbro has done worse.

No bias? Is that why "Hasbro drop the ball" is the only option for "bad idea" instead of, uh, "bad idea?" And that the only indifferent option involves slamming the designs instead of just saying "I'm fine with whatever" or something?

Also it's discussion about a toy, therefor it really should be in toy discussion, but that's a mods job.

Well, as much as the fandom is going to bitch and moan, we STILL don't have that much of a voice in terms of buying power.

I suspect the "brighter colors" being mass retail is so it would appeal to kids more, and to be honest there is research supporting this idea. Thus, the game-accurate colors is still an option, but Hasbro doesn't stand to loose as much by selling the correct version as an exclusive to fans who want the right version.

It's a tough thing to swallow, but that's business for you. And Hasbro doesn't even need to make the correct version as it is.

i was about to say it was a good idea because then a bad redeco would've ended up as an SDCC exclusive but then i realised they could've given us something like a shockwave redeco or something and released the normal colors at retail.

And yet FOC Voyager Soundwave, fully-loaded $100 MP-10 Optimus, FOC Insecticons, Prime Thundertron, etc...

But no, because we disagree with ONE choice they automatically suck and we should boycott everything they produce despite all the awesome stuff that was revealed so far.

^This. The good always outweigh the bad each time and yet they manage to screw one up and it still overshadows the awesome things comming.

That being said. I like half of each. My ideal Bruticus is the SDCC Onslaught, Swindle, Brawl with Retail Vortex and Blast Off.

I won't say they dropped the ball but I'd prefer to pic up the SDCC version at retail. So now I will pray I get one from HTS at a decent price. And if not I guess I will buy Brut-aid and get used to the colors. I am sure the colors will bother me less than the molds of the Classics/RotF/Energon version.

To me anyway, the correct colours of a character will always be whats on the retail release of a toy, not the animation model/video game appearances

Okay I hear you but is that to say that the kids who will buy this video game wont be disappointed at the color scheme therefor dismissing the purchase of it if they happen to spot it in stores?

I mean after the initial Bayformers Movie I didn't see Hasbro rushing to make and orange Optimus Prime. Plus we're taking about a game that has the potential to sale millions of units. So were's the logic in buying a figure that looks totally different than what you've been playing?
