Damn, that sucks. The Waid/Wieringo FF run is legend, and his SM was great. He was almost certain to get a stint on post-Bagley USM and/or the upcoming multi-ASM at some point. :(

He was the sole reason I picked up Sensational Spider-Man a few years ago. I loved the way he drew Kazar, Stergon and Spider-Man together. He will truly be missed.

Oh wow. I first got into his work on the Rogue limited series waaaay back. He had an incredible style.

He'll definitely be missed in this fanboy's heart.

:cry  This is horrible. I can't believe that a guy that nice and young gets taken so quickly. I'm completely in shock over this. He was my ALL TIME favorite artist, and the one that I desperately try to emulate in all my attempts at drawing.

    Complete shock.

    You will be missed Mike.

Truly a pity. I haven't read many comics that he's worked on, but from the few I did read I really liked his style. It's tragic that he died so young.

He was one of my top 3 artists... a terrible tragedy for the comic industry. He'll be sorely missed. RIP Sir, and all the best to your family.

    Very sad news.
My sympathies and condolences to his family and friends.

He was a great artist. I enjoyed his dynamic and optimistic artistic style. Its a real tragedy he was so young.

Wow, he was a fantastic artist and from what I hear, a stand up guy.

I hope they do some very nice tribute issue with his stuff down the line.

What terrible news. I know it's a greedy thing to say, but it's upsetting that I'll never get to see his Spidey again.

Wow - what a terrible loss.

The guy really was as sweet as they say. Let me add a little story to illustrate this:

I met him at a con in Philly, and he asked my then-wife and I if he could sketch anything for our daughter... we said that he could just do "whatever" - so he drew a picture of Jean Grey with my daughter's head... ala Uncanny X-Babies style.

Class act all of the way.

    RIP Mike :(
