If you watch it again the fight between Prime and Shockwave was much much longer compared to the final cut in the movie. Maybe we can see the extended battle when the bluray comes out.

Hopefully they also include the Chernobyl fight that they cut on it as well.

Wasn't that just animated for the commercial?

It wouldn't have been. It would have cost too much money to have been just for a commercial, it was made for the movie and cut, probably because of run time.

The whole "cut for runtime" crap is getting old did you guys see King Kong, sure it took 3 discs to get through the entire movie, but it still exceeded 3 hours on the theatrical cut.

All I really want is an extended Prime/Megs fight. 5 seconds just doesn't cut it.

I've seen King Kong and it was epic. Anyways, I agree the cut for runtime is a really stupid excuse in today's world, but they'll always to do it.

That burger king shot could not have been from the movie. The scene of Optimus killing Shockwave is too clean cut theres nothing suddenly missing.

Plus I don't believe Optimus brought his axe out until his fight with Sentinel.

Just noticed that as well... would it have killed them to have included a fight like that in the film instead of the short "blink-and-you-miss-it" massacre of Shockwave that we did get? If they were pressed for time, they could have just cut out all the useless shit that plagues the film's first hour... I think most fans would prefer Shockwave having more screen time than Deep Wang...

Maybe something they should throw in for the Blu-Ray release...

    In the movie:
Chernobyl - Shockwave's eye is intact/Optimus holds a sword and shield
Chicago - Shockwave's eye is damaged/Optimus flies in and only uses his fists

    In the commercial:
    Shockwave's eye is intact
Optimus uses his axe and sword
Shockwave's using his left arm blade to block Optimus' attacks

I don't see how the clips from the commercial could fit in to the final cut of the movie. I'm pretty sure those clips were from an alternate Optimus vs. Shockwave battle sequence.

Bay probably wanted the military to be part of the effort to take down Shockwave, so he replaced what could've been an epic fight with a TF1-Megatron-takedown deja-vu.

at least not without causing some continuity errors... and it's not like the films don't have any of those already...

Well...King Kong was the kind of movie that could do that. Plus, the extended version was even longer. Entire sequences were cut out such as the Ceratops scene or the swamp battle with the Piranhadon.

yeah i dont see why it coudlnt have been an alternate cut.
more believable than BK requesting to increase the budget for their commercial with robots you dont get a good view of.

    THis.

Once the blueRay/DvD is out, I want that scene on it. The King Kong Deluxe extended edition is so epic, and really long. DOTM will hopefully do the same for movie release.
