If by going out like a bitch you mean brualizing Sentinel Prime, apparently a stronger fighter than himself, asserting his dominance, then getting more or less blindsided by Optimus' energon axe, then maybe.

This is more in line with how I feel about the ending. Megs made this movie for me. I hated him in TF1 and RotF, but in this he came off the way I've always wanted to see Megatron. He wants ultimately what Optimus wants but his methods are far different. His idea of peace is pure dominance (A more logical solution to me). Optimus believes in freedom for all but leaves room for radicals to grow.

They both want (or did want) to bring Cybertron back to it's glory. Megatron felt if it meant annihilating and enslaving the human race, then so be it. Optimus felt it wasn't their war, and they should not have to suffer for their (Cybertronians) mistakes. They both wanted what was best for Cybertron, but would go to different lengths to achieve it. However, in the end, I saw Optimus forsake the future of his own race for a species which betrayed him many more times than Decepticons ever could. Optimus let Cybertron die.

Megatrons sulking in the alley seemed more like relief than moping. Cybertron was emerging and soon he felt it would be saved. He looked more happy to me. What Carly did was manipulative but the right idea if Megatron actually thought he would still have command after it was over. Remember, peace through tyranny... his tyranny. My wife said, and I've mentioned it before and agree, in DotM he wasn't humble, but he wasn't cocky either. Maybe he would betray Optimus later, but he did ask for a truce. This is why I don't like the ending. Optimus was cold sparked in his execution of Megatron and even Sentinel.

Going out like a bitch? Pfft, he's been a bitch from day one of these movies. First he gets disoriented and crashes on Earth where he remains frozen for god knows how long. Then he gets brought back only to be "killed" 20 minutes later by a teenage kid. Then when he returns in ROTF, we find out that he's a little bitch to The Fallen, whom he not only bows down to but also calls "master". After getting a supposed upperhand against Prime during the 3-on-1 forest battle, he gets his ass (and half his face) handed to him AGAIN before retreating. Then here we are in DOTM where he's more or less a crazy invalid who would rather be sitting around than actually doing anything. It had to take a little human girl (who he could AND should have killed right there and then... but didn't for whatever reason) to motivate him to put up a millisecond worth of fighting before... yet again... being utterly destroyed by Prime.

Sorry folks, but movie Megs is possibly the single worst and most useless iteration of the character ever. 3 movies and nothing but back to back fail. Even G1 Megs got more done than this embarrassing movie prop.

in DOTM megatron's turning "soft" is a direct contrast with Prime's getting more and more ruthless.. which is not such a bad thing after all. I'm glad the already worn out Meg was taken down by Prime though the former did saved him from Sentinel's wrath. I knew this would happen when Prime declare his "battle vow" after their re-emergence from faking death.

I just thought it was stupid that Megatron SAW IT COMING AND THEN DIED!

Megatron was looking at Optimus before the axe and then took the axe. I'm sorry but that was just bad comedy! In a parody, that would be funny.
However, this was the actual movie. To see Megatron watch one-armed Prime kill him was really stupid.

Well I don't think anyone who gets half of his head blasted away becomes normal again. Megatron is no exception. He started talking to Elephants, he was becoming insane and mumbling to himself. I don't think Prime knew how he was becoming insane and sorta gave him a mercy killing of not letting Megatron becoming more insane.

I'm sure if Megatron become more insane, he would be talking to Squirells and next thing, he would become even more insane and start talking to walls.

To make him limp to a weak end? It's certainly not any twist I would have chosen. Half a head or no, the idea that he could have led the Decepticons to victory just doesn't work.

The movie itself really needed some explanation (not a book explanation) on why Megatron was just sitting there chilling and talking to the girl. I was wondering where Megatron was and then this is the next scene we see him in? It just seemed so random and out of place. They might as well showed him smoking a cigar and playing poker at a casino.
