recently it's become clear that Hasbro are designing releases, with remolds worked out before hand. i was looking at the known molds and their remolds and i was wondering.

outside of Hailstorm's Remold just how many recent transformers releases have a remold which swapped allegiance in comparison to the original release?

Well most of the upcoming remolds we have see nothing more to go than the teaser of the instruction sheets. so its hard to say.

There's the Shattered Glass figures but those weren't as much a remold as much as repaint.

I hope Tomahawk does. I've been waiting for a Decepticon version of the mold, and they are light on choppers of late.

    This fits Toy Discussion better.

Those aren't remolds though, they're straight repaints.

I think other than Perceptor/Reflector there aren't any currently known. We know Thunderwing, Lugnut, Tomahawk, and Terradive have new heads planned, but we don't know what faction they will be. Except Thunderwing, if it is indeed Black Shadow he'll most likely be a Decepticon.

you'd think with PCC repaints at LEAST they can have the decency to SWAP some commander/torso heads.

If you have him, just look at his instruction sheet.

Thunderwing is being remolded into Black Shadow.

Terradive is getting a remold too.

    Lugnut as well.

Remolds are planned, at any rate.

The amount of alternate heads being seen I don't expect to see every last one of them get released. Or at least not right away.

All I know is I've never been tempted to buy repaints (other than stalwarts like Cliffjumper and the Seekers) until they started doing this whole new head sculpt thing. I bought Axor despite buying Lockdown and am very tempted with Skullgrin and Mindset.

I hope Tomhawk is either Rotorstorm or Spinister or hell Armada Cyclonus.

Terradive as the G2 Predator jets or as BM Spy Streak.

Lugnut as Squezzeplay. Looked at Squeezeplay's design Lugnut could probably pull it off.

Thunderwing will obviously be Black Shadow.

A Rotorstorm repaint of Tomahawk would be amazing. I think Lugnut's remold is Finback.

I don't know if this counts as recent, but movie 1 Evac is an autobot and a remold of movie 1 Blackout who is a decepticon.

I'm not sure, but it's a pretty good idea on Hasbro's part. It just seems a bit weird to have an Autobot and Decepticon look exactly alike except that they have different colors.

I would not be opposed to a Tomahawk remold into Armada Cyclonus.

I'd like the terradive mold to be the basis for a new set of seekers. Think of it, a decent sized, poseable mold that doesn't suck. Just a few alterations (head and add 3mm clips to upper arms/underwings and replace the trident with a pair of 3mm clip null rays) and you've got a new take on a classic design.

It'll never happen, but I can only dream.
