actually he has no sigil on the DOTM tf, and per his bio...I use him as a con impersonating a autobot for stealth and espionage ops.

him and half track carry the nest special operations emblem..(cons acting as bots) to me LOL

    more mysteries!

    SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO???????????????????????????

during 2007, a decepticon named reverb who was a green (fail btw hasbro) copter fought for the allspark.

during the fallen getting his revenge, a decepticon named reverb, a street bike, gleefully, served the cons.

aaaand, now in 2011, an autobot who ALSO happens to be named reverb, works for nest and aids humans in the name of justice.

    .....

maybe somehow this a further homage to inferno since during the universe war he became an autobot?

You're right about 2009 Reverb, he is an Inferno homage, but more in the burning things down than the forced side-changing. The "97" stands for the year Inferno first saw release (1997) and "Calany Racing" is a misspelling of "Colony Racing".

2007 Reverb was one of the unreleased Bruticus Maximus limb redecos, is in fact an homage to the Mini-con Cloudraker:Cloudraker (Universe) - Transformers Wiki

It should be noted that 2007 and 2009 Reverb have similar bios, although it's doubful that they are one and the same since it's odd for one to go from a green helicopter to a pyromanical sport bike.

Don't know about 2001 Reverb, but I doubt there's any further implications about there being a side-switching.

i supose youre right about the alt mode cange ... however since they can change at will and maybe he needed to be a ground vehicle. who knows?
still seems odd and fun they 3 cybertronians during the same war have the same name yet no connection to each other.

Well, your argument isn't without precidence. In the bio for 2009's Divebomb (Ransack repaint in GLORIOUS Red Baron colors), it's heavily implied he's actually the OTHER Divebomb from 2007 (Cybertron Thundercracker repaint in a garish yellow camo scheme) who reformatted into a WWI-style biplane in order to honor the legendary fliers and to experience the "romance" of old-school dogfights.

And then with Bludgeon, it IS cannon* that the Wreckage repaint (Masters of Metalikato 2-pack w/ retooled movie Evac as Whirl) and the later Voyager Bludgeon from the NEST subline are one and the same, the deluxe getting his ass whupped by Whirl to the point where he upgrades into a G1 update of his namesake.
(*the time Wreckage was in this paint scheme during the comics, however, he was treated as just a resurected Wreckage in a new paint scheme, while Bludgeon was always in the body of his Voyager).

And finally, there's the deal with PCC Salvage and Icepick. With Salvage (Mudslinger repaint with Icepick's minicon), it's sort of implied he's actually the later form of the 2007 Salvage, who was a repainted movie Dropkick in a scheme homaging the "Sanford and Sons" truck. Then with PCC Icepick, it turns out he's the same one as HA Icepick, being forced to patner up with a human after his (realistically non-existant) combiner team/drone limbs were all destroyed. This also has the issue of him going from a large ice/snow vehicle to a single passenger snowmobile, so this can go along with Reverb going from a helicopter to a bike to some degree.

But then there's ROTF Dead End, the problem here being that "ROTF Dead End" actually applies to TWO different figures within the same line; the original bird-robot/red car scout from the line's launch and the later Sideways Retool. The former is implied to be some kind of energy vampire, while the latter stays true to his G1 origins and is just really, really depressing, but despite sharing the same name there does not appear to be any connections otherwise.

And then there's Armorhide, who in the 2007 line was a repainted Cyb. Armorhide (Hasbro was real creative with coming up with the names for the repainted A/E/C figures by simply keeping their names) and turned into some kind of wrecker/salvage truck. In 2009, Armorhide was a repainted movie Landmine (S7 Buggy) and shared no connection.

So, I guess the point I'm trying to get across here is that you aren't entirely wrong about toys sharing names actually being different versions of the same character at different points in the timeline, but unless it's implicitly hinted at or even stated outright, it's more than likely just a case of name reuse.

so basically, to keep rights, they reuse names again, again, again, again, and again; even IF it means that same name same character is not true/is true.

however didnt hasbro wanna keep the names under same alliance? like no swapping sides?

lastly this supports theory that cybertronians have names like we do. its just a name not an assigned label.
