Yup and yup. I've got a thread ready to go about this and a few other related elements but there's that tricky "no politics" vagueness.

We're really speaking more about basic grade school history here than actual contemporary politics, as I would be in my thread...so I'm assuming it's fine but don't wish to court further infractions, obviously.

Yup, the connection is obvious and clearly suggested. People get so caught up in the "Arise, Atlantis!" reference that they seemingly completely miss the symbolic foreshadowing of the enslavement plot deliberately put forth by Megatron's obliteration and dethroning of Lincoln.

Glad to see you guys are appreciating the symbolism there as well, it's really quite clever and subtle despite being so in-your-face and plain-as-day in hindsight.

 

 

Yes. The TF movies aren't exactly rife with symbolism, but what's there is pretty good.

 

Wait since Abraham Lincoln is now Optimus Prime, does this mean Megatron destroyed Optimus twice when he blew up Lincoln Memorial?
