    My Ironhide broke!

The figure I was most psyched about, my Cyberverse Prime Ironhide, made a disconcerting "snap" noise earlier today as I was fiddling with his cannon. As I exerted torque to remove the peg from his arm, it snapped about halfway through. Augh! I was befuddled as to how I would remove it without breaking the peg completely, so when I got home, I froze him. Don't know why. He thawed quickly, being plastic, and I began to gently work on him with a bit of lubricant. I couldn't take it anymore, and I pulled straight out.

    His peg snapped clean off.

Do not twist Ironhide's cannon pegs when they are in his arm. It is a very tight fit, and is prone to breakage.

Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do to reaffix the peg? What should I do to remove stuck pegs in the future?

Heat or freezing the plastic around that area should be good to loosen up the plastic to get the piece out. To put it back on, I use the tried and true method of pinning. It's pretty easy. Here's a tutorial:

    Pinning Tutorial

If you have trouble there's two Youtube videos on it, but they're not very good. I could try cooking up a quick video to show you if you still need help on pinning.

mine did that with my Prime - Cyberverse - Optimus Prime. one of his 2 blasters were oval instead of circle to begin with and soon it snapped. lucky mine wasn't too far in the hole so it came out easy.

It seems like a lot of people are having problems with Ironhide. Several people have mentioned pegs snapping off.

Someone even said that their Ironhide was missing the screws that hold his torso together.

Pinning, hmmm? I wonder if that'd work for a custom Transformer...

I always use pinning whenever possible for any kind of hobby work I'm doing, whether it be model building or doing customizing. Pinning just has a lot of advantages going for it...it's going to really get a stable and tough connection going on with your parts.

The same happened to me, but with DOTM Voyager IH and Skyhammer's weapon. Still wish I could find a way to fix the peg so I could use that weapon again...

    EDIT:
    Would this work?

Also, sorry for somewhat hijacking the thread.

Suggestion - would it be better to replace Prime Ironhide's cannons with DOTM Ironhide Cyberverse ones?

I don't see how it couldn't work. Just make sure you drill a little deeper for a bigger pin on both ends. Let you glue fully dry before trying it. Also taking a small hobby file to the peg and shaving off some plastic to make it a little looser will work wonders too.

This is why I believe that everyone should learn how to customize to some degree! You'll be equipped with the tools and skills to do fixes like this.

I lost my other DOTM Ironhide cannon. I'm planning on maybe painting my redeco's cannon to match the first one and maybe just painting them both to match the concept art of Ironhide (black body, blue energy lines.) I have two of the right kind, so it might be fine.

That happened to my Ultimate Optimus's BFG peg. Now one of his armor fists is stuffed with broken peg.

Okay, so for the record, how am I supposed to remove this peg I GOT IT.

    Actually, no, tell me anyways.

And for the record, my Optimus's cannon just broke too—another long, clear blue plastic peg.

Yes. I made the mistake of twisting the cannon (at an angle) as it bumnped into the back arms panel.

    snap!

One cannon pegless. One arms w blue plug.

The translucent plastic is very fragile at that size...

Great lil figure, though! Very happy w IH.. :)

The same happened to my Bulkhead. He now holds a gun from the DOTM Bumblebee vs. Starscream 4-pack.
