A well articulated He-Man fig?

I just saw this pic at Cool Toy Reviews. Is it a prototype? A custom? Looks good since all the He-Man figs that I can remember don't have as good articulation as this one.

I hope MOTU is going to get a reboot. I LOVED the 4 Horsemen series, but Mattel themselves killed the line with shitty case ratios, horrible repaints, and piss poor distrobution

I prefer the Horseman style, to be honest. Old school is way cheesey.

The only problem I had with the latest line was that it wasn't well articulated enough. The sculpts by the Four Horesemen on the other hand were excellent.

    Now THAT'S He-Man!

It's kinda weird, but I think that He-Man himself was about the ONLY Four Horsemen MOTU figure I didn't like so much. That weird little anime jaw, the concave abdominal cavity, and the sword that looked more like a decepticon can opener (movie Frenzy, is that you again? :)  ) somehow seemed too far removed from the thuggish He-Man of my youth.

I'm sure that's just a nostalgic bias. Overall the Four Horsemen series was amazing!

Based on the original (scrapped) story for the 4H MOTU, He-Man's and Skeletor's swords makes sense. but yeah it was way off for nostagia buff.

I didn't like that He-Man much either. The most powerful man in the universe should look like a massive arse kicking barbarian, not a teenager on steroids.

That looks like a custom built from an original to me...notice the old-school carrying case skeleton thing.

Don't forget the horrible comic it had, too. Just because someone is a fan of something does not make them qualified to write a comic. This, of course, led to the termination of a certain G.I. Joe "writer" before they rebooted the comic as America's Elite.

A quick look at the He-Man fansite doesn't say anything about a comeback, so it looks like a custom to me.

According to TNI it is a prototype from Mattel. I agree with them that it is unlikely to release this year but I wouldn't be surprised to see something released next fall especially with the talk of a new movie. It looks nice but I'm not too sure I will get into another He-Man line with all the Transformers and G.I. Joes next year and so little money for them.

As much as I love He-man, I hope this isn't a new line, because I've just recently started buying the 200x line, and now that i've bought like half the major figures, I don't want to find out the major characters will be easily available in retail again.

^^ yeah, what he said. however if they do start a new line, and they basically use the same designs from the 80s but with ML-style articulation, I'll be ok with that, since I like the 200x style so much more, and dislike the articulation design of this figure.

by the way, anyone need a mib 200x battle cat? pm me if you do.

I hope the face sculpt for a reboot He-Man is different than that version.

Looks good, but also too classic at the same time. And with He-Man, classic is not really a good thing.

So is it confirmed that the figure is a custom? Because if its a protype for the next MOTU line...I'm going to go into this line.
