...is a vote against those that would squander TFW's nomination on a character with no place of honor(or any place at all in any major media) in the fiction of this series we all love for the sake of a puerile joke.

    GRIMLOCK IS KING!!!

I think I've made my case beyond a purile joke, thank you very much.

I'd rather vote for the Autobot who tries to limit collateral damage than the Autobot who alternates between being indifferent towards it and actively creating it.

Might as well put this here as well!

My vote is not against any other character. I love dinosaurs, I love robots... Why not both! :)

But, no I never voted for Dinobot. I supported Grimlock last year too.

Who knows how long this HOF thing could go on for? This COULD be the last year...

    You never know.

My vote will go towards Grimlock if Waspinator gets knocked out.

Grimlock has a ton of votes, but kind of a small campaign thread.

Anyway, my Masterpiece Grimlock is shaking his fist at me, so I'd better offer my support. Hope he doesn't find out I voted for Shockwave...

Where has this Autobot done these things? I've never seen him in any show or comic. Erector is a non-character unworthy of recognition in the HoF.

At least Grimlock was Autobot Commander for a while.

If you're referring to his leadership in the comics, it was not really a stellar period for the Autobots, either in G1 when he basically became no worse than a tyrant during his first term and would have gotten the entire Autobot race killed were it not for an act of god during the second term, or in G2 when his reckless abandon got red alert and mirage killed for nothing.

Says so right in his bio. That means he's not a non-character, just an obscure one.

I'm sorry but I can't accept that a few lines in a bio = appearance in popular media(comics, tv, movies) as far as viability for consideration in the HoF goes. He has no fame to enshrine, just a bio...

Then don't, vote for someone else, and give your whining a rest. Make a case for your candidate instead, mudslinging in politics makes you look as bad as your target if it's not about a relevant issue (which your attacks haven't been, as they've been rebutted dozens of times over the past days by dozens of people), and if its the same thing over and over. Also, congratulations on making this thread about Erector, not Grimlock, I appreciate your support.

I think Grimlock's most notable accomplishment was literally kicking the ass of Unicron, a planet-sized genocidal robot viking with arguable god-like powers. No doubting grimlock's got some bearings of chrome steel, no matter what else I've said about him.

He pretty much saved the day not once but twice during his his goofy phase in G1 cartoon's Season 3.

He's pretty much the Hulk of Transformers and you know how popular the Hulk is. Even the general audience knows who he is.

actually, an aspect of the character in a future incarnation where when he gets angry he automatically and uncontrollably turns into his dino-mode and goes into a mindless berzerker rage could be pretty interesting.

Agreed, that would be an interesting take on the character.

    Oh yeah!

Remember he and his Dinobot pals pulled off a Very Big Damn Heroes Moment by beating Trypticon in the original Marvel Comics. That pretty much mad him leader of Autobots cause he did something no other bot at that time could do.

Then, he went out of his way to make sure his fellow Dinobots survive by risking his own body int Ore-13 or whatever it's called.

To me, Grimlock is a very three dimensional character, he sure can cause a lot of damage but he can save the day anytime he wants to.

He's a character with Hidden Depths.

In terms of actual character depth beyond "badass", the only real examples I can think of from the marvel comics was when he was wracked with grief and uncertainty in his own skills over the loss of his dinobots in the nucleon arc, and his page-long inspirational speech in issue 1 of G2.

Even in the example you gave, he and the dinobots beat Trypticon by brute force and attrition, not by strategy or rallying the other Autobots.

I'm not saying Grimlock CAN'T have depth, but I find myself struggling to find a lot of truly great examples, especially given how much fiction he's been in.

Also he wore a sweatband and a tattoo that said "Big Grim" on it in G2. That costs him some cool points, but we can't really hold anyone responsible for bad style in G2.
