Well, as many may have noticed I was absent from the boards for a few days, and let me tell you, they were some of the worst days of my life. So where I work we ork 4 10 hour days, but our contract allows us to go 10.7 (each 6 minutes is a point, so if I get off at 4am, 10.7 is 4:47am). Friday was a night like the rest, we were behind so they called 10.7. at around 4:15am I went to streach my back out and when I stood back up my world changed. I had a ringing in my ear, my vision was doubled I lost total control of my left arm and leg, got dizzy and threw up a bit. Was immediatly sent to the hospital where I was for the last 5 days. I'm 33 years old and I had a mild stroke. It is still one of the scariest things I have ever been through and am still a little shaken by it. Was released earlier today and told not to go back to work for 8 weeks or so. It turns out I have a small hole in my heart, and when I bent over it allowed blood to flow the wrong way. It's really hard for me to type this as my left hand is still a little weak but I just had to get it out there. I'm actually lucky I got off as well as I did, I can walk pretty well and no slurred speach, my vision is still ok and have strength in my arm. Now I just need to rehabilitate and get back to 100%. Thanks for reading, hopefully I will be back in the swing of things around here soon.
