I just happened to be browsing Amenbo and saw this under their listing for MP:SS,

"TRANSFORMERS Masterpiece series. STARSCREAM, Transfomers G1 series character. 30cm (11.8 inch)size Large-scale model made of ABS, PVC, and Die-casting. Design supervision: Shouji Kawamori (most important work: Macross, Aquarion, and hybrid style G1 convoy) Transforms from Robot into F-15 jet fighter. It can enjoy two expressions by the face's reversing. Come with Display stand.
Pre-order begin one of these days"

Some of that is new and the last line is quite funny, apologies if it is in fact not news.

30 cm puts it at about the same height as MP Optimus. Good, I'd been wondering how big he would end up being.

The reversible face sounds interesting. I'm curious as to how they'll pull this off without making Screamer have a face in the back of his head. I'm thinking that maybe the face and head aren't one full piece and the face can be pulled forward and spun around. Hard to describe, but it's the most effective way I can think of doing it. I'm guessing that the two expressions are "arrogant smirk" and "whiny begging for mercy face". :D

The fact that this was designed by the guy responsible for THS 02 Convoy is leading me to guess we'll be getting another MP figure with an awesome bot mode and a vehicle mode that's mostly an afterthought. :(

This sound very intresting, I'm liking the "face switching" thing goin on. I dunno what the rest of ye think, but I always thought it was gonna be tough to make a perfect bot starscream from an F-15 fighter, considering its slender design, I think anything that resembles the F-15 from the bot mode is an achivement.

A display stand makes sense as you will be able to display him in flight, similar to Palisades seeker statues.

I'm not too concerned, Kawamori knows his stuff where jets are concerned and a 12" canvas gives him plenty to work with.

I'd concluded that such a thing was inevitable. MP Convoy/20Th Prime is basically a robot that turns into 'some sort of truck.'

...of course I'd love a Starscream that turns into a pile of ashes.

    ...and back again.

Hmmm, i'm not sure if this is good or bad. I'm a little iffy on the PVC part of the figure. Does MP-Convoy have any PVC to him? I hope starscream doesn't turn out like THS-02 where many features of the figure are not how he was ever animated or drawn before.

Maybe PVC isn't the right material for such a thing.... but in order for the toy to pass North American* safety standards
it will need to have a soft nose cone. So, perhaps they're going to make it as close to that version as they can in order to keep retooling costs down.

*There's gotta be a Hasbro version scheduled somewhere. I suspect 'Supreme Starscream' was a test to see how people would react to a large Starscream toy.

I hope there is a US version, seeing that I WILL be buying this figure and I don't want to pay to import one.

THS convoy was tiny. This toy is big.
And look at any of the designs he did for macross, then try thinking of what you said and if it still applies.

Does anyone know if that length in cm is vehicle length or robot height? BTW, didn't need to say this, but Shoji Kawamori rocks.
