That is so awesome, man. I, too, can't wait to see the finished model. I just know it will be badass. And that optics pic is just mind blowing. Keep it up, man..can't wait to see the rest. :thumb

It's a gradient, radiating out from the centre of the lens. I made it in Photoshop and mapped on for colour (set as an alpha channel so the original colour would still show through), and luminosity.

Perhaps it just the persepective of the shot, but to me the face looks a tad narrow. Still a beautiful job :thumb . Can't wait to see the body!

    EDIT:

...and I didn't have to wait for long!

Hey man, I love the texturing. I feel you've come miles from your old Prime renders back in the days of ep 1. Would you mind giving us some of the #s used or any shader effects?

I have a hard time getting that certain level of reflectivity/shinyness that you've seemed to get down now.

Thanks d00d. We've critted each other a lot in the past, so I am pleased to have read that.
I can sort something out, yeah. Give me a few days and I'll post up some settings.
It's a mix of specularity, glossiness, and reflectivity that does it. Add to that the Gmil & Fast Fresnel shaders, and a little free shader called Grit. I'll elaborate when I get a chance to; shouldn't be more than a day or two.

Your attention to detail is freakin' ridiculous.

    I love it.

I'd also like to put together one of my music vids on a machine like yours. I have a pretty solid machine, but Vegas 6's render times have become rather tedious.
