While Prime is still in its second season I got to wondering what the next series should be? I then began to think about how Shattered Glass hasn't had much mainstream exposure aside from convention exclusives and comics. So what if Hasbro decided to flip things around for the next show and based it off of Shattered Glass? It could work in my eyes. It'd probably be a pain in the ass to market but still it could end up being cool. What do you guys think? Should we turn our heroes into villains and vice versa or should we keep things same as it ever was?
A whole series...No but maybe a short movie or an episode in prime where one character is transported to a shattered glass dimension. That may work
I could see it as a 3 part episode in Prime where one of the autobots is transported to the shattered glass dimension but as for a full show it wouldnt work. Hasbro wouldnt want kids to get confused probably.
I would love to see that, the Transformers line really needs something new again to take place in media.
I agree with the others, a full series, no. Hasbro would nix just because it would create too much brand confusion. As a boxed set for a store exclusive, or even a small subline, maybe, but only if it gets shown as an episode/multi-parter arc in an established TF series.
I don't think I'd want a full series, but a movie or series of specials would be neat. Shattered Glass could lend itself to some hilarious voice casting. Like having Welker do SG Optimus, or something like that. Or even if they used the same actors, it would be really cool to see the actors do the new personalities. Imagine Cullen doing an insane Optimus (well, more insane than movie Prime). What are some voice actors you'd like in a SG animation? Animated had plans to do just that.
Honestly, I'd love to hear Peter Cullen do an evil Prime, if only because the people behind Shattered Glass once said he should sound like Venger, the main villain from Dungeons & Dragons who Cullen once voiced.
They could do what Marvel/DC does. Just have straight to DVD stuff dealing with Shattered Glass. I'd be all over it
I would be all over this too. I like the idea and think it could be really fun to watch. Plus I still want an official SG Sunstreaker!
Frankly, I think Transformers should make these in general. I know loads of people would buy a Last Stand of the Wreckers movie.
An animated series like G1. No computer graphics. Also, this would make the toys mass market and cheaper. A mass market comic would be great too.
This is the voice I casts i'd use as well as how it should sound it's mainly role reprisals but in a different way. Peter Cullen as SG Optimus Prime (Venger) Frank Welker as SG Megatron (Nibbler) Steve Blum as SG Starscream (Spike Speigel) Johnny Yong Bosch as SG Goldbug (Lelouch) Jeff Bennett as SG Soundwave (Johnny Bravo) Gregg Berger as SG Grimlock (Kelsey Grammer impersonation) Keith Szarabajka as SG Ironhide (Mr. Freeze) Jeffrey Combs as SG Ratchet (Herbert West) Kevin Michael Richardson as SG Jazz (Mr. T Impersonation) Grey Delisle as SG Arcee (Azula) Liam O'Brien as SG Cyclonus (WFC Cyclonus voice) David Kaye as SG Galvatron (TFA Optimus Prime) and Nolan North as the Heroic Autobot Cliffjumper and SG Ravage will be voiced by Richard Steven Horwitz)
(bold added for the ones I really like) Spongebob_with_open_wallet.jpg If they did use Kaye for Galvatron, I think Garry Chalk as SG Ultra Magnus would be neat (although those two are not direct rivals in the fiction).
