There's a guy at work that I get along with pretty well. The guy is funny, cracks me up. He's pretty quiet and reserved about his private life though. I had just found out earlier this week (Monday/Tuesday) that he and his girlfriend, whom he adores, had gotten engaged. I walked up to him and gave him shit about it, how I was going to announce it over the intercom system during peak business hours, but to mention "...but don't tell anyone!" so they all knew it was to be a secret. His fiance is a 23 year old lady, very pretty, with two boys from an ex who was very abusive. She adores this guy at work. Her two boys LOVE my co-worker like they are his dad. They had all just moved in together last weekend or so. The girl died last night in my co-worker's arms, in their home, as he performed CPR on her. Tomorrow (Saturday) is his birthday. Apparently she felt sick and decided to go to bed early. He found her in bed, not breathing, called 911 and started CPR. She was pronounced dead by the time paramedics got there. Just like that, in a blink of an eye, your life can be destroyed by tragedy. Everyone at work was shook up by this news ... and my work is 250 people large. So please, whether it's a family member or that special someone in your life, take a moment to tell them you love them more than anything else in this world. Because like my buddy, you may not think twice about it, and never get the chance to tell them again.
