i dunno once i modded the HASBRO (HASBLOW.....REALLY I MEAN COME ON DUDE) version. the only thing i didnt like about it was the "smurf face".....easily fixed, swapped it out with a Henkei Ironhides head.

I used a silver sharpie. Not perfect, but looks better. The tip was too big to fit in the crevace on the side of his face, but a shadow covers it well enough unless you're looking for it.

Wait, you paid another $30 to behead the henkei just to have his face silver?

a sharpie or a brush in 30 seconds the Hasbro looks fine:

The mod is not worth the effort imo, it makes the figure only marginally better from the front and from the side it looks terrible with all the parts cut off.

what are you talking about? he looks fine with the mod, i cut off the 2 screwholes inside his roof/backback (not visable in either mode) so the wheels fit inside the backpack which pulls the figure together. it also helps to raise the robot head up a little. I also slit his neck and wedged a piece of plastic under it to raise the head up even more. i have no idea what your talking about? a different mod maybe?

Have to agree, I modded mine and it has no bad effects because of it. If you have a dremmel or other appropriate tool I would absolutely do it.

The original mod I've seen for that figure looked like it had been performed with a steak knife. When the grey piece linking the waist to the torso was extended, it looked like it had been chewed by a dog.

Not mine, I don't think. I didn't extend anything, just shaved some plastic off. Granted, I wasn't all that thrilled with the end result either. I did Matt Booker's mod on my second Ironhide and it's great.
