Hey everyone, I've got a quick question about the upcoming versions of Kup's new figure, and I figured this was the best place to ask. I've been trying to figure out which version is closest to his G1 cartoon paint job, Hasbro's or Takara's. To be honest, I don't see much of a difference, based on the catalog scans. I know however, that often, the two companies will photoshop their pictures, meaning the figures sometimes differ quite drastically upon release. So, which version's paint job comes closer to the cartoon?

    Thanks!

I believe the takara one is the most accurate. (It has a more tealish/turquoise look to it)

Thanks for the quick response! :)

Basically, I want him with the cartoon paint job, not the toy. I like the toy's paint job as well, but, I really would like to have a Kup that looks like he does in the G1 Movie. :)

I know BBTS has pictures of Hasbro's version, but, I can't find pictures of Takara's. I saw it in a catalog scan once, but, can't seem to find it again. BBTS is, I think, using the Hasbro version's pictures as a placeholder for Takara's.

    Here's a link:

    Generations 2011 Series 02 - Sergeant Kup - Transformers 2010 Transformers Generations - Deluxe

Actually, looking at the photos, Hasbro's Kup really looks like the cartoon paint job - it's more of a dark green than the teal/turquoise of the G1 toy; but, there's the problem of Hasbro photo-shopping all their pictures. The color paint shown is rather close to what I was hoping for, namely, again, the cartoon/movie darker green, I'm just not certain if I can actually trust the photo in regards to the paint's true hue.

Yeh they did the same thing with henkei hound, in that case I recommend the Takara one, it's more movie accurate. Hasbros version is more cartoonish.

Agreed.... Takara is always better in most cases.

The vehicle of Takara's is shiny. He has painted rims and a painted stomach that we know of (no idea if other changes may surfaced like a more detailed head - the e-Hobby one has a more detailed head so it may be like that for the United one too).

Here is the United one from what we've seen so far.

Thank you so much! That was the photo I couldn't find again!

Looking at the photo, to be honest, aside from the shiny paint, the actual hue of the paint doesn't seem to be that drastic a difference from Hasbro's version, though Takara's might be slightly lighter.

If the Hasbro and Takara photos are accurate, the Hasbro one just might be what I go with. I guess I'll have to wait for better photos for now... :)
