I recently purchased a G1 Whirl and am looking to restore it. My problem is that the window canopy doesn't stay in closed position. (Please see pics) Does your canopy stay tightly snapped in place? I am wondering if the revolving hinge on mine is perhaps broken/loose.

Does the rear tap look to be missing? If not, it might just be loose, you can stretch it out a little but it might make it brittle or even break it. You can always look for a discolored body and swap the canopy.

I'm going to have to take a picture of the rear tap to verify if mine is missing/broken. It doesn't look like its long enough to snap the canopy in place. I'll post pics soon.

I'd glue it shut if it doesn't need to open, or use magnets to hold it shut.

The revolving hinge is loose on mine too, however the canopy stays tight when closed. Must be the tab.

Ok, here's the close-up pics as promised. Does it look like the tab is broken?

If I even tilt the copter even 90 degrees down as shown in the pic, the canopy swings wide open loosely without any type of hold.

    Bump

Can anyone confirm if my canopy tab is broken? Thanks!
