Before we get to the question, I just want to let everyone know that this is a project for my Statistics Class.

Here's the question: You happen to find your holy grail at a Convention or Store, but there's a catch. It's price is way out of your comfort zone. Would you still buy it?

    Thanks for your help

if it's way out of my price range then most likely I won't get it, but then again, if it's one of a kind and I would die without it, my price range would be pretty damn high right? :D

At this point, no. I've paid more that I really wanted for things in the past and been disappointed. As a result, I set my price and don't budge on it by more than $5 or $10. If whatever I'm looking for at the time doesn't fall within that range, I don't need it! :)

I voted yes. I have already achieved my grail(s) so at this point if say something new that becomes my grail, and it's impossible to find elsewhere, and i have the money, i'll sacrifice my other purchases for it.

Considering I would have the surplus of cash to spend in the situation, I voted "yes." Like most people, my grails aren't easily found in the first place so just seeing one available for sale would make me foam at the mouth.

Nope. And I've been in this exact scenario, too. For years my holy grail was G1 Star Saber, but eBay and TFW never had one I could afford. Then Botcon 2010 came around. Plenty of cash, plenty of Star Sabers all around. Except I had a $250 limit on one, and I hit at least four that were $350 and up. Couldn't justify it, that comfort level means that's what it's worth to me, I'd love to have it, but it's still just a thing, if I dont want it THAT bad, I cant spend that kind of money. One thing collecting for all these years has taught me though is there's always other opportunities, that Botcon had my Star Saber which now proudly stands in his own little shrine in my collection. So even finding it outside my comfort level, I'd wait, cause eventually I'll find it at a price I can live with.

It's no unless they release a tv version.

$390 is quite a lot to spend on one item. But I love it so I think it's money well spent.

...and there's no way I'd pay rip off convention prices.

Seeing as I don't have to worry about gas prices, utility bills, or any other kind of necessary payment, I can afford to be stupid with my money. Hence, my comfort zone is pretty much all the money I have. With that, I literally would not have enough money to spend out of my comfort zone.

No, my grail is on Ebay right now, but its price is way out of my comfort zone so I'm not gonna buy it. Pic related:

If a "holy grail" were ever in my price range, I would buy it... Which is why I don't have any of my grails yet.

Example, I want a Fortress Maximus, but $1k is too much.

I would do whatever I could to get this Holy Grail, as it'd grant me eternal life & I'd have plenty of time to pay it off.
