I have a few questions regarding the original Xbox. Right now I have a 360 (and quite a few games for it), and I've had some thoughts about getting original Xbox games (not the Xbox Originals that you can get on Xbox Live, 1200 Microsoft Points is pushing it too far for me, IMO). Now, I'm aware that the 360 is backwards compatible with some Xbox games. So, I need some answers here:

    1. Can original Xbox games that have Xbox Live capability be played online with the 360 (like Halo 2)?
    2. Is it possible to save original Xbox games on the 360? Or am I out of luck?

Now, I already have plans on getting Halo 1 and 2, so which original Xbox games should I buy?

You can play on Live. and you can save your progress so long as you have a storage solution (like a hard drive).

yeah it's a pretty seemless transition. I play Crimson Skies on it, and it works very well: saves to my HD and all

It all depends on what games you're into and what you might enjoy playing. Here's some that you may enjoy (that I've seen, played or enjoyed myself), but keep in mind that these are opinions:

    Halo 2

    (you've mentioned these already)

    Mercenaries
    BLACK
    Soul Calibur 2
    Fable
    Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
    Dead or Alive 3
    Dead or Alive Ultimate
    DOOM 3
    Guilty Gear Isuka
    Guilty Gear X2 #Reload
    King of Fighters Neowave
    King of Fighters 2002/2003
    Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
    Marvel vs Capcom 2
    Psychonauts
    Shenmue II
    Star Wars: Battlefront II
    Star Wars: KOTOR 1 & 2

I bought Black off LIVE and it won't let me finish it. :lol
It keeps freezing near the end.

hxcpunk has a good list. Ninja Gaiden Black was also fun.
There's also a GTA double pack with GTA 3 & Vice City included.

Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction was also a blast

There's always Gamefaqs top 10 list to pick from or research

Darkwatch by Capcom is a fun vampire/western themed FPS. Live enabled too.
