First off; apologies for another CHUG related thread.

Anyway, I'm looking to get a combiner for my Decepticon team, and I'm up in the air on whether I should go for the Classics Devastator, or get Bruticus and order the two Fansproject add-ons.

Devastator's cheaper, and looks decent enough as he is that I wouldn't be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for add-on sets.

Bruticus, when combined with the Explorer and Munitioner sets simply looks better.

I know some people might say "Well just go with what you think is better", but if I could actually decide, then I wouldn't be posting this :p

So; Bruticus w/ Fansproject add-ons, or Devastator? What do you guys think?

You can still buy Bruticus at Target, and the add on pack will give you accuracy. Devastator omits a member, and isn't a good representation of G1. Go with Bruty.

I can't find a Bruticus set, and if I'm choosing between $50-60 for Devastator on eBay and $200 for all the Bruticus parts and add ons...well, let's just say that the Scrapper of the set is a pretty nice Classics update, too.

I'd go with Bruticus and the add-on sets. I saw them in person at Botcon and they are a work of magic. They look great!

I say Bruticus. Also, you can buy the figures cheap if you go with the Energon colors. I have an extra Red Energon chopper, stormcloud if you want it. I'll sell it cheap because i'm not going to use it.

Damn! I just went to eBay and it seems my humble $50 investment in Devastator is now going for like $120 at the lowest! Given this information, I recommend Bruticus. Also, I regret taking Devastator out of the box.

I say go for Bruticus right now, get Devs further down the road. There hasn't been any upgrades announced for Devs yet, so you have some time before his price skyrockets. For all we know he might not be getting any upgrade sets. But Bruticus with the Fansproject Explorer and Munitioner looks FREAKIN AWESOME!! So jump on that guy before the prices go way up on the FP stuff. Then when you got some spending money again, get Devs.

Bruticus, by a lot. I picked up both (along with the Superion RotF repaint and FansProject upgrade for him too), and though Devastator looks nice in the more overt G1 paintjob, it's begging for a FansProject upgrade. If you get Devastator, only buy it unless you really want it and/or view it as an investment with the hope that it'll pay off down the road with a potential upgrade set from somebody.

You'll hate yourself if you don't get the Bruticus with FP's addons!

Devasticus is one of the best combiner ever. You should definitely go with him. :thumb

But in all seriousness, go with Bruticus, especially if you're getting the FansProject sets.

i got the RotF Bruticus. and glad i did.
your best bet is to grab Bruticus before the FP add ons come out and you get royally hosed by scalpers.

i myself am not getting FP add ons, but they are a sight to behold. well worth the coinage.

the other combiners are a bit easier to acquire (with patience) so this isn't much of a brain boggling conundrum.

really, this is like asking, "if i am in a desert, should i eat salted peanuts or drink the gallon of water?"
    you do the logical thing.

    hope you like Bruticus!
