Who is the actor that played the general in charge of NEST? On another note. How did the character he played in the first movie Col. Sharp survive and be in the second movie?

General Morshower and Colonel Sharp are two different characters played by the same actor: Glenn Morshower (and yes, his character is, in fact, named after him).

They liked him so much they wanted him back in, assuming people wouldn't remember Col. Sharp.

I think Mr. Morshower is very charismatic, both in looks and in voice, but they should have been more cautious about this. They didn't even change his looks..

I'm still not sure why they changed his name. They could have just promoted him like the did with Lennox and Epps. Then he could have been Gen. Sharp. I do find it kinda funny though, that Gen. Mor-Shower, was asked to "bring the rain".

Maybe Colonel Sharpe and General Morshower could be considered Twins..

    His name is Glenn Morshower.

He played General Morshower in the first film and Col. Sharp in ROTF.

I make sense of this by just considering him the human version of a re-paint. This way, instead of lazy casting, it's Bay's way of giving a nod to a Transformers' tradition.

Actors sometimes play multiple roles in the same canon.
