i have been giving this a bit of thought lately when it comes to t he 80's animated movie one of the more memorable events that happen in the movie was primes fight to the death with megatron i got a question when it comes that particuelr scene from the movie how would it have gone over at the time if the fight had gone in such a way towards the end that the final scene of the fight saw prime as a dying man literally go out in a sacrificial blaze of glory with this final scene of the fight being modeld after this YouTube - Superman: Doomsday - The Death of Superman (the COMPLETE FULL FIGHT version!!!) me , i could all too easily see optimus go out literally in a blaze of glory like that
He pretty much did go out in a blaze of glory. Or was the "NEVER!" with the double fist slam finishing off Megatron with what little was left of his strength not blaze of glory enough? True, it would be nice to see an Optimus fight on the level of Code of Hero, with Optimus dying only after going to the limits and beyond, but I don't think it is necessary. The 86 Movie was an epic enough final fight for a hero like Optimus, IMO.
A showdown like that Superman/Doomsday fight would be killer But the Prime & Megs showdown was awesome for 1986
think of it like this: Optimus died the way he lived. He slammed Megs with 120% when at best, he was down to like 30%. He gave all he could, to the last, and it was epic enough for me.
