Based (loosely) on the Classics Ultimate Battle Optimus Prime:

Not sure I'm entirely happy with the way his smokestacks on his shoulders came out on the sideways motions, but they didn't look good any other way either.

One thing I am happy with are the eyes. I initially had trouble shading them, so I went with an SD Gundam styled "pupil" in the centre, then shaded outwards from there. I think it really works with the smaller style.

I think I might try a Classics Seeker next. Considering this is the first full sprite I've ever designed, I think it works pretty well.

Cute. Though I noticed as he turns to look forward or turns around, he's considerably taller then the sideviews.

Yeah, looking at it I can see what you mean. I lost a couple of pixels out of the height when I did the side profile of his midriff. Might have lost one or two on the legs as well. I'll fix that later on.

Thanks for the input, I think I'll try Soundwave or a Seeker next :)

Probably not right now, but if it's a Classics character you're interested in, I'm going to be working through the cast eventually.

An update! I fixed the issues with Prime and designed a couple more sprites, along with a little playground for them:

Still very much under development, I'm not sure if I'm 100% happy with the way those buildings fit together on the map, though the roads and paved bit look good, so all I need to do is work on the buildings.
(Ignore Cliffjumper's "..." balloon, that's a hangover from something else I was testing at the same time)
