y'know when i see reissues i think wait wern't they realeased just Years ago? and then i find my self with all the originals,G2 repaints/remolds,2002 reissues, the jap convention ones, collection series,Encore,& Universe(IE Optimus,Perceptor,Insecticons, etc.)Damn,do we need any more to fill the void?(Rant end)

    (An Idea for HasTak)
So i know there are All of these "originals" and one thing i don't get is why not take apart a G1 Figure and ohh IDK just use those parts to make new ones?...Wtf HasTak why not do this to (Quote on Quote) Have the mold redone? so still though HasTak WTF....

Please leave a comment (Duh! of course comment)on what you think

It costs extra to reverse-engineer a new mold from an old figure and that extra cost has to be either (a) worked into the price of the resulting figures by charging more for their reissues or (b) Takara and/or Hasbro have to be sure of selling a high enough volume of the reissues that they don't need to sell each one for an increased price. Undoubtedly, the people at HasTak have done the calculations and, if there was enough of a market to justify it, they'd do it.

As far as stuff being repeatedly reissued, the fandom has a certain amount of turnover and redoing some of the reissues, particularly the more popular characters, allows the newer fans (who missed a previous reissue) a chance to get them.

    Hmm...Thanks for informing me Scan:thumbs2:
i was looking to sending Hasbro a letter about it
then i was thinking "they probably never read this so F it"
but my life as a scalper & a collector would probably never Question.
but as usual i would wing it and get another G1 figs mold that was lost and take it apart (so painful to take apart :(  )and reverse mold it if i feel like it,iv'e done some but never wanted to show in public,i'm about to atempt G1 Grimmy i've done Wheeljack & Sunstreaker and they are Sexy!

i dont totally get ur point about the reverse engineering part, but i think reissues are great.. i started collecting early last year.. for people like me, who just want a G1 figure, without vintage value, its great to be able to buy the figure for a normal price,

then explain what material you made the molds out of.

see, you're relying on the biggest "cover up my own bullshit" excuse ever. that you dont have access to them, and thats why you cant show them.

if you're gonna make crazy claims like that, you have to be prepared to back them up.

I don't know dude... you're making some rather outlandish claims and you're refusing to show proof. You can't blame people for being skeptical.

Besides that... anyone who's done anything close to something you'v suggested that you've done usually wants to post what they've done on the boards. Heck man, we have a whole section (The Radicons) dedicated to that kind of thing (yeah, I'm sure reverse engineering would fit right in with all the kitbashes).

So, really... it's a little hard to swollow without pics of what you've done.

honestly, if you reverse molded any figures, the logical thing to do is to start cranking out reproduction parts, because there's HUGE demand for them.

and the fact that you arent doing that is all the proof I need to believe you're lying.

Evidence is not forthcoming and you're getting very defensive about this.

BS indeed. He put them in a safe - LOL.

Like anybody who actually reproduced an entire G1 figure wouldn't fall over themselves showing it off to the entire TF community.
