So I picked up the first wave of PCC single figures. They're okay for scouts.

One thing that bothered me (besides his muted colours and unimpressive paint apps) about Huffer was his head. It struck me that Searchlight's head was somehow more fitting, so I decided to try and swap them. The end result feels a bit more G1, I guess.

Huffer's head was a bit resistant... had to soak him in some boiled water for a minute first, but otherwise it worked pretty easily. The Searchlight fits Huffer's neck joint perfectly, though Huffer's head is a little bit loose on the chopper.

Not a big deal, but I figured some might like it. :)

Aside from the fact Searchlight is my favourite and i hate you for sacrificing him to make Huffer look good...

...Nice job. Nice Huffer. Bad Searchlight. :D

Yeah, I agree that it works better for Huffer. Searchlight doesn't look so bad, but it doesn't "pop" either.

I'm not thrilled with Searchlight overall. I find his kibble the most annoying of the 3 PCC's I have, and something about his large scale head especially makes me think of Animated for some reason. On the other hand, with this head, at least he makes for a passable Breeze/Twin Spin GOBOT homage. :D

I hate all their minicons. I'm pretty lukewarm to this line so far... if they were the same price as Scouts, I might be more generous, but I don't find they offer enough more to justify the higher price point.

I actually bought those two of the three available so far, and I'm not convinced this is a line I'll continue picking up. Unless I happen to see good parts or heads I could use, of course.

    Anyway.

I like the headswap for Huffer. It's more tradiationally "Huffer," but I still wouldn't call it "Classics" as some others like to. I think a bit more gun metal and silver to his helmet and face could help a bit as well.

Cutting those ear fins is a judgment call, I guess.

I bought all 3 of the 2-packs thus far and this is one of the things I did. I only like the line for the scout figures. I think they make for a great source of parts. I'm cool with the minicons. They're not as cool as 2.0 Nightstick, but I believe they can still serve as TM partners.

Neither really look like they belong on the other. It just looks like a random headswap.

Yeah, I was considering that too.

    True!

And hey... you get a free spare Deluxe head with every Scout figure! :)

I'm thinking it'll look a bit better with some lighter blue paint on Huffer to match the head... just enough to unify the design a bit more... PCC Huffer's colours are incredibly drab.

Your powers of observation are prodigious. :)

Of course that's what it is... though "random" is more a factor of the colour range. The Huffer head goes fine with Searchlight because a black head can pretty much work on any design. The Searchlight head on Huffer just needs a bit of colour touch up to affiliate them better. But I do think the head says "Huffer" more than the one he came with.
