I spent all spring working on my minibot project, and gathered ideas from all of the classics seekers that others did to put this (and thrust and dirge, which I'm doing next) together. I had originally planned on doing the sky blue toon version, but after seeing some people's darker, toy accurate versions, I decided to go that route. I had posted some preview pics of the original color I had painted this, which was the stock tamiya metallic blue. but that turned out to be too green, so I mixed it with basic blue for the color you see here, which IS metallic, although it doesn't show up too well. as you can tell by the number of alt mode pics I took, I really think this looks sharp as a jet. I was totally planning on doing some sort of reprolabels kit or something to get all of the wing stripes down, but then decided I liked the basic color so much that I didn't want to distract from that with a lot of trim and other colors. but after I finished it, I realized it looked good, but really bland with blue, silver, and black as it's only colors. so after some recommendations from people here, I added the yellow and red you see. I'm not too much of a fan of the glossiness, but I'm afraid of flat sprays (never seen them for sale, either) to dull it afterward. so here you have it, one more in the "no thanks botcon, I'll do it myself" category. as always questions, comments, and critiques are welcome!
