Today they announced 3 "lines" of exclusives for 2012: Dark Energon, First Edition, and "China" figures. I'd be willing to bet that each major retailer gets one of them: TRU, WM, & Target.

Once they put the toys out today or tomorrow, they're likely going to have cards that say which is for which store.

If that's really true, then are Walmart & Target just not getting any exclusives this year?

An edit for clarity: my question is sort of rhetorical, I know you don't have an answer. It'd just be nice if we knew what store is getting what. Now that the toys are out in cases at SDCC and they *don't* have cards saying what store is getting what, I'd assume Hasbro hasn't nailed everything down yet.

Those items are showing at those stores only.

Walmart has a exclusive G2 Optimus and Jazz set with Motormaster and Thundercracker.

No Exclusives at Target this year Transformers wise.

 

What does "Shared Exclusive" mean?  

 

So Walmart is getting the set with the 2 deluxes and Motormaster and Thundercracker but TRU is getting the "China" assortment that also has Motormaster and Thundercracker?

 

Shared Exclusive is what they call figures that do not go to regular retail.

Last year

BBTS , Hasbro Toy Shop , Myself (Tokyo Toys Tampa) , TFSource , Toy Arena and several other online retailers sold Transformers Prime First Edition figures.

The only retail outlet that carried them was Toys R Us. Deluxes only. Canadian TRU Received Cliffjumper Exclusively as well as Voyager Optimus , Bulkhead and the Entertainment Pack.

They were a shared "Specialty Store Exclusive"

Last year BBTS shared exclusives with a number of stores.
