It's about the size of a scout class figure and is fairly heavy. Unfortunately, I don't really know the proper name for him. Is he Japanese BW TM2 optumus primal ?? optimus minor ?? I'm not really a BW fan so I have nothing to go on. Any help would be most appreciated, this is driving me friggin nuts!

It's a knock off of the first Transmetal Optimus Primal toy.

I'm not so sure its a knock off. What makes it a knock off? better pics available if needed. It does say Takara on the package (not that it means anything nowdays). Don't mean to beat a dead horse but I'd really appreciate the help.

Nah. Its not a knock off (it says Takara at the bottom right hand corner). Its a smaller version of Beast Wars Transmetal Optimus Primal/Metals Convoy. Around the time this was released Takara still liked making smaller cheaper alternatives of major characters. Similar to the Transformers Jr. It says Beast Wars Metals Real figure at the top.

No it isn't; it's Beast Wars Metals Convoy Jr. I know this because I have one myself. He was also released in black and gold as a Japanese convention exclusive. That one was bagged rather than carded.

It's a KO of TM Optimus Primal or the Jr version.

He doesn't turn up on ebay at all regularly, but I don't think he's particularly rare or expensive.

ty. I was able to goo oogle a pic of the black/ gold version and saw that it was in the same packaging as my own. given the insight I've gotten from you all, the store that I bought it from (they often have imported video games, movies, toys ect from Japan), and the pictures I have seen on goog I feel good about calling this a real TF and by the name "Beast Wars Metals Convoy Jr". Please advise if you have a different opinion anyone and again ty all for the information!

Looks like a smaller alternative to the regular TM OP.

I can only judge by wieght and by appearance since the figure is still in package. That said I would say that there is at least a little die cast in there somewhere prolly the chest area perhaps? I am in no way sure though
