Sorry if this was posted before, but I'm not about to go back 5 years in the movie forum to find this thread. The real Ironhide wouldn't say this... - YouTube 0:10, when Ironhide asks to take out Sam's parents, Ratchet's in the background saying "Yea yea yea" like he's agreeing with him, and wants to take them out, too. I just thought that was a side of Ratchet we only saw once, and I liked it.
Yup, plus he grabbed Ironhide's left arm cannon and pointed it to the window. I love small details like that.
I honestly like to pretend that never happened. I imagine this Ratchet as being the peaceful medic who wouldn't want humans hurt like that.
to be honest besides when they go to the aerospace museums and the music rolls in rotf thats my favorite scene in the trilogy
Good point. Maybe that's how the Autobots get him to loosen up. Make Jolt shock him. Also explains what happened to Jolt...
Huh? I'm lost... However I do feel he was partially responsible for Cybertron's destruction, considering he and Bee took out the Piller!
If we assume that Cybertron contained the essence of Primus, god of the transformers, then Ratchet is guilty of deicide, either intentionally or unintentionally.
It's easily said that he (and Bee) were intentionally going to destroy the pillar. Whether they knew that the pillar's loss would also claim Cybertron is debatable.
Ah, the backyard scene. The scene that a lot don’t like, even though it’s probably one of the most “G1” scenes in the entire trilogy.
I always felt that Ratchet had the potential to add some sophisticated humour to the movies, akin to TFP Ratchet. Maybe not quite as sarcastic and snobbish, but getting close. He always struck me as someone who would be drinking tea while the other Autobots clanged their beer mugs together. Like a sir. Slightly off-topic: The title of that video pisses me off to no end. I hate it when people throw around the term "real" when referring to fans or characters. "The real Optimus was a cab-over." (There was an article pertaining to DotM filming at NASA, so they had this photograph of Optimus Prime - complete with his G1-esque trailer - just chillin' in front of the space shuttle. Awesome, right? One of the sentences in the paragraph description was "Here, Michael Bay is filming his third Transformers movie at NASA. *sigh* The real Optimus Prime was a cab-over." No joke. That's what it said.) "The real Ironhide wouldn't say this." "The real Starscream would've killed Megatron." "If you are a real fan you will see how X are unfaithful to Transformers."
Or that they were aware that Primus was real, and inside of Cybertron. In terms of the pillar, I think given they could see that it basically sliced their planet in half when it was interrupted, that destroying it would have drastic effects on their homeworld.
I always took it as electricity-hyped Ratchet so of tripping out. He's so calm and composed all the other times we see him. Also that video title kills me. "The real Ironhide wouldn't say this." Well, he just did. Or do you mean that red doodle from the cartoon who was nothing but confused southern quips and generic babbling? And leaving it would have destroyed ours.
