Part 1: Genesis
Part 2: The Birth of Amiga
Part 3: The First Prototype
Part 4: Enter Commodore
I had no idea the Amiga was considered a failed machine. Very interesting story. I look forward to subsequent installments.
That was an awesome read, I can't wait to see more.
Part 2: Sega CD?
yeap, a very awesome read. I didnt think I was gonna get so into the story that I was got annoyed when part 1 ended. I cant wait for part 2, keep us posted.
Awesome; my favourite ever computer. I own a variety of them.
Heh. Interesting to see the phrase "The Amiga computer was a dream given form" used in there; The Amiga was the machine that was used to do the CG for Babylon 5, and the intro for B5's first season uses the phrase "The Babylon Projectwas a dream given form". Very nice touch, there.
I wonder if they will mention some of the little quirks the Amiga possessed. I hope so. Brilliant find, Streck; thank you for making my day *gets misty eyed and goes off to plug in his A4000/060*
good read...can't wait for part two.
Man I missed this kind of reads.
*misses his days of being a geek and actually telling everything about old machines.
No Im not being sarcastic
Part 3: Dreamcast?
I loved my 3000, it was my first computer. It broke down eventually, tho, and I had to replace it with a hand-me-down PC 'cause my ex-husband was a bastard who only wanted new machines for himself, and would buy ones so expensive we couldn't afford another new machine.
And I just remembered he lives and works in St. Paul now...
My fondest teenage memories of BBS, hacking, copy parties and telling everyone how my Amiga 2000 was better than their 286 computers!
The Amiga will always hold a special place in my heart. Truly ahead of its time. Man I loved my A1000, then my A500 and finally, my A2000.
Actually, I still have my original Shadow of the Beast 1 and 2 games, complete with boxes, floppy disks and owner's manuals in great condition! Psygnosis made the best games back then
what ever happen to part 2?
OMG part 3 as well
This is awesome stuff. Can't wait for the next three-parter!
I wonder how different things would be if Atari had bought them.
Part 4 is now up:
